PostGame Thread 23 Official Week 10 PostGame NE vs IND Reactions

Immediate Postgame Reactions
We drop an offensive lineman. Instead his new position is to hold Kirk Cousins (who can’t walk) like a baby, and run around the field with him while Cousins looks for an open receiver 5 yards down the field.

This solution is literally better than starting Mac Jones.

Mac breaking is on Mac. He lacks mental toughness. But Belichick isn’t blameless for putting him in a position to fail. Other QBs would tough out the situation and not completely fall apart like Mac. But I don’t think there are many QBs who could succeed in the Patriots’ offense the last two years. They just wouldn’t be the abject failure Mac has become.

As BB would say, "The last 25 years".

6 Super Bowl titles earned him the right to not suffer the embarrassment of getting fired mid season.

Don't worry. His legacy is already set.

He's the guy who pushed Brady out the door and fired him.

Brady will never play another game again and he still might have more wins than Bill post Patriot dynasty.

I truly don’t see a point keeping Bill right now unless they believe they can get a pick.

If reports are true, that they will let him go free out of respect, just do it now.

As much as Bill needs to go it shouldn’t be in season. Don’t do that to him, he’s earned the right to play out the season.

It would be a horrible look for Kraft to embarrass Belichick like that. Six Super Bowls gives Belichick to leave with a little dignity.

There was no good reason for a QB change. Unless Bill was looking to troll Mac and show everyone he has 0 confidence in him.

It’s time to end this. Rip off the bandaid from the dynasty years completely and start fresh. Thanks Bill, but we’re moving on

I hate piling on, before this I gave Mac the benefit of doubt, bad o line, not the greatest receivers, no running game, 3 OCs in 3 years, and he had made just enough plays to make me question how much of the bad play was him, and how much was everything else? That Int was 100% inexcusable, unarguable unacceptably on Mac. Just a horrendous throw on what should have been an easy go ahead TD. I’m done with him, trade him for a bag of peanuts in the off season. The rest of the team isn’t good either but they did their part today with a solid ground attack and a defense that held the other team to 10 points.

He was at the mercy of Bobby Grier who had horrendous personnel and draft decisions.

Pete didn’t have a losing record.

And Pete Carroll won a Superbowl with the Seahawks after leaving New England. So he wasn't just a 'rah-rah' coach. He just wasn't the right coach for New England at that time.

On the other hand BB has reverted to Cleveland BB after Brady left. So BB is really the only one with something to prove and he's come up short. Real short!

Yeah, I disagree with Chatham on this, a player can absolutely be broken by bad coaching. It’s not a reach to think Matty P and company tried to adjust Mac’s game style and mechanics to fit into whatever WC style offense they tried to implement.

That said, Mac’s issues this season are on him but there’s a definite connection between how he was not developed last year to his sucking so much this year.

People still underestimate what a soul-destroying blood-sucking vampiric feeling it is for football players to know their QB is not only horrendous, but he can't do the easiest little simplest things (for a pro QB).

Gesicki's reaction in the end zone says it all. He was all WTF!!

This carries over, folks.

Look at the OL: they mauled and mucked their way to great big gashes all game. If you can't throw the ball when the other team is sticking 9 in the box, you're hopeless. And everyone talks about the poor pass protection. And that comes with the territory when the defense sees absolutely no reason for to do anything back there. They will become ultra aggressive. They'll run blitz. They have nothing to lose. Soul destroying stuff.

We underestimate the impact on the players of all this stuff.

OL mauls people. Defense gives up 10 points. What else do you want these people to do?
This can never be understated and is never appreciated enough. QB is the most important position in all team sports because no other single position can utterly destroy a team through incompetence quite like a bad QB.

Ironic given an NFL team has 53 players so you would think no one player should have such an impact.
