Until 2020, the last time that the Patriots kicked off a football game and were out of contention for the Super Bowl, Bill Clinton was president. December 24, 2000. In 2002 and 2008 they were eliminated only after their last game was WON, each time losing a tiebreaker (2002 Jets, 2008 Dolphins). What a run it was!
