I have it from a real good source that Belickick likes Ross a lot. He actually almost made the team out of camp despite being out with an injury for the first couple of weeks. He got cut during camp because he was dinged up with a hand shack agreement that once he was healthy he would be...
Ross Ventrone, Safety Villanova has signed with the Pats as an undrafted free agent.
He is the brother of former Patriot and current Brown Ray "Bubba" Ventrone.
Just an FYI, Ray Ventrone was poked in the eye and had his eye scratched in the 3rd quarter last night. He had some blurred vision and the coaches would not let him re-enter the game in the 4th quarter. So thats why he didnt get any work in the 4th quarter. He was very angry about this and...
Thats exactally right. One thing Bubba is great at is getting down there and busting up the wedge to allow more guys to come in unblocked and make the stop. Even if the return wasnt his side it still made a difference that he wasnt it there.
Yeah, the fact that he was almost Mr Irrelevant and didnt even play much his senior year makes me think that if he had not been injured he would have been drafted for sure.
Before his senior year in college Ventrone was considered a mid to late round pick but he broke his foot in his 3rd game and ended up not playing another game in his senior season. He would have most likely been drafted had it not been for that injury.
So his odds werent that long. His...
Just wanted to give you guys an update as I talked to Bubba Ventrone last night.
He said he will play the whole game on Special Teams tonight and get some time at WR. But the surprise he said was that the secondary coach told him that they were going to use him at Cornerback in the second...
I talked to Bubba and they want him to be versitile. Last year durring practice there were times when they had him playing WR against the first team defense and looked pretty good (playing scout team). So the coaches want him to be able to play both WR and Saftey that way he can fill in for...
Bubba's job on kickoff is to fly in first and bust up the wedge. I watched the kickoff that the Giants ran back and if you watch for Ventrone, he is the first one down there and knocks into the wedge. That should free up other guys to come in and make the tackle. He did his job.
