Forgive me if this has been brought up already. The 4-3 over/under is not a scheme. It's an formation variant, like the split I on offense. Most defenses shift into & out of the over/under depending on the situation.
This is a pretty decent site, breaking down the player...
I don't know that Brady would get sacked. Torrey is a speedster, but he'll take a short pass & turn it into a 30-40 yard gain just as easy. Something you don't have in Lloyd. Boldin/Gronk..... it's a wash. Then Ray Rice is fierce as a receiver & Flacco doesn't go to him as often as he could...
This is hilarious.
As a Texans fan I'd rather play Flacco, because we can & do get to him regularly & he becomes a "deer in the headlights"
We'd rather not play Brady, because we can't get to him without blitzing & he eats that sht up.
If there was one way to win the Super Bowl, then every body would be doing it. The bottom line is that the Ravens had a lot of things go their way & they took advantage of it. We're talking one play in each of their previous games & the Ravens aren't even in the play offs.
The Ravens & Flacco...
The Ravens are going to have a hard time winning their division regardless. Then they've got to beat two of three........ Texans, Patriots, Broncos....
If they get to the Super Bowl, they'll be battle tested, & probably win another one.
Ray Rice fumbled the ball & practically gave the game to the 49ers. The Ravens went 3 & out, then shanked a punt, gift wrapping another 49ers TD.
In the NFL, it's about the next play, not the last play.
I think it was the right call. The ball is on the five yard line, the DB gets five yards to check the receiver. I think the receiver initiated the contact, the DB wasn't trying to stop the receiver from getting to the corner, to me it looked like the receiver was trying to push off, then saw the...
That last statement... am I reading your post wrong, or do have data that backs that up? So far, you've proven that they are better against 12+ win teams than against 8-10 win teams, but how are the other teams in the league at playing 12+ win teams?
Congrats on the win guys. Your team pretty much showed us, again, that there's a freak'n mile between a good team & a great team.
But, at least we know where we fall short. I think we've got the guys to get it figured out & get us to where we want to be, the question is how long.
Again...
Uh.... Belichick doesn't do bad play-calls. Next time you coach a super bowl winning team maybe you can criticize his play calling, until then, put the ball in the GOATs hands.
