From NBCSports:

The No. 2 wide receiver from Washington’s prolific passing attack (behind likely top 10 pick Rome Odunze) is the type of player coaches love. Polk’s high energy in everything he does (including blocking), fearless in working dangerous areas of the field and a nonstop worker. This wide receiver class is loaded, but Polk is expected to go in the top 35-40 picks.
It’s amazing, really. Everything I’m reading is opposite of what the “busters” are saying here.

“Early round 3 guy ….probably be a 3rd WR on a decent team ….if your team sucks ….could be a #2…”.yikes

Not the projections I saw. Most I saw had him ranked way lower then we picked him
Prob projections from early in the draft process. He was a big riser in the last month or so.

Kendrick Bourne - 6'1" 205 4.55
Juju Smith Schuster - 6'1" 215 4.54
KJ Osborn - 5'11" 203 4.48
Ja'lynn Polk - 6'1" 203 4.52
Kayshon Boutte - 6'0" 195 4.50

That's a great receiver room in 1979. Also I love that they're all the same player.

************ you guys are committed to being miserable or what? Polk was a perfectly fine pick and I’m interested to see how it goes. He doesn’t have the most deep speed but he’s not “slow”, he’s average. Besides that, they didn’t need a barn-burner, they needed a big tough guy who could play the X position. Polk is that.

Polk at X, Bourne or Osborn at Z and Pop in the slot might be a pretty good group and all of those guys except Osborn are signed for the next 3 or more years for cheap. Plus Hunter Henry for 3 years.

There are so many biggity b*tches here who know virtually nothing about Polk yet they are blasting the pick and stating confidently that he wasn’t worth a second round pick.

As an olive branch to my fellow Pats fans, I’d just like to say to each of you that

Did you forget about Tyquan Thornton's speed?

We have Polk at home.

4 times, actually, take your pick.

Adonai Mitchell, who's NOT a Kendrick Bourne clone, was still on the board.

The pick isn't so slam dunk that it can't be debated.

That doesn't make people miserable

N'Keal's draft profile....

—Ideal No. 1 wide receiver build at 6'2" and a rocked-up 228 pounds with long arms, long legs and broad shoulders.
—Owns the 50-50 ball with some Randy Moss-type plays on tape; elevates from the field flawlessly and has a great ability to adjust and track the ball in the air.
—Uses his length and leaping ability to make big plays in the red zone and on the boundary when going up to attack the ball.
—Knows how to separate with his body and route-running ability; running a 4.53 at the scouting combine was a major win for him.
—Yards-after-catch master who's physical running with the ball in his hands; looks to pick up extra yardage and doesn't go down easily.
—Big enough to beat press coverage off the line of scrimmage; has some Michael Thomas-like confidence and play style at the line when corners try to walk up on him.
—Loves football and plays with a dog mentality; will stalk block and get physical in the run game; not afraid to take on tacklers.

It was completely wrong... Physical receivers who can't separate works well in college, in the pros not so much. Polk might be mentally tougher than N'Keal, at best he'll become a physical possession receiver. Not worth a second round pick.

Doing some internet research. Hopefully this guy tops out as a solid #2. Trade for Deebo and I’ll start believing. Seriously though, are we ever going to draft a #1 WR? I think we all have PTSD from Bill’s total neglect of this position. Maybe that will come next year. It’s gonna take awhile to fix this mess. We got a solid #1 QB so you can’t have it all unless you’re the Bears who have sucked for 40 years.

And the run on corners.. Going to have to hope they find another guy like they have with Jones and Jackson.

So, this should help Drake Maye’s supposed “timing” issues, right?

Way to not quote directly. Don’t make stuff up.
