Didn't see a thread for this pick yet so here he is. He's a big boy. 6'5, 314 lbs.
He's the "other" Penn State tackle who played opposite from Olu Fashanu.

Wallace put up decent athletic benchmarks with:
  • 40-Yard Dash: 5.15 seconds
  • 10-Yard Split: 1.74 seconds
  • Vertical Jump: 31″
  • Broad Jump: 9’8″
Have a look for yourself:

Probably a reach but if he was really their target I’m fine with it. Can he play LT?

I would have went elsewhere but he was on the ptp board as a late round pick.

Very good functionality, he won't wow you with anything flashy at all but when he's on he's always in position, on time with his slide and has heavy hands. Slide isn't explosive but consistent when his footwork is on.

Played a multiple run scheme. Really showed development in understanding when to extend, latch and go all in with his blocks and assignments this past year. Showed good readiness and attention to detail last season. Understands games up front can ID rushers and potential a twist. Plus timing with his hands although he does extend too far. Combined with his lack of bend at the knees and he'll always have trouble with certain speed rushers. Once he gets on you its very hard to get away from him. Good play dpeed not great. Showed lot of growth this year though. If he could get even slightly more explosive out his stance he could eliminate a lot of potential problems but he's an older prospect. Was arrested a few year back for a controlled substance. Looks like a strict RT unless we really coach him up combined with a big development growth at 24 + years old.

Interesting. What if he'd been a LT on most other teams but had to play RT due to Fashanu?

Wolf’s Presser he said this is who they had targeted all along
Bored Season 3 GIF by The Office

Of course he was.

Wolf talking about him playing on the left:
“He’s a guy who we felt was athletic enough to possibly make the switch to the left side,” Wolf said. “Really good pass protector. Really took a huge step forward this year as a four-year starter. Athletic, strong, tough. Can possibly play guard. We think he can be a four-position guy, but feel like he can play on the left side.”

Went: who? W this pick, but…

Really liked end of his press conference when his brother came on
‚Described him as a hard worker who treats football like a craft -art & that he is always learning ‚

Also him saying he played ALL THE OL POSITIONS…..
So would have liked to hear someone ask about his C experience. Wondering what if he moved to C in 2 years (if the L tackle isn’t all that).

I like that they addresses premium positions and positions of need with wr and ot
Hopefully they got the right guys
If Wallace can lock up rt at an solid level we can be happy
They apparently view okafor as an lt so it makes sense for a rt , we don’t really have other RT
I don’t view lowe wheatley or mcdermott as good enough for backups , Anderson hopefully can be the swing OT
