I honestly think we could have won a Super Bowl with Dak if Belichick was still HC. Unfortunately, we have a bunch of morons at the helm now, so the point is moot.
lol at the posters here thinking this is some gay rights issue.
Caleb Williams isn’t gay and people aren’t annoyed by this because they think he’s gay.
It’s the “Look at me! Look at me!” attitude as evidenced by ridiculous get-ups like this and other actions such as his father seeking an...
Yes, I would prefer the guy who coached us to 6 Super Bowls and drafted the greatest QB of all time to get another shot with a new young QB. He got one shot with Mac Jones, which was a massive whiff, and Thunder kicked him right out the door.
I think if Belichick was the coach next year this would have been a perfectly fine offseason; the subtraction of Mac Jones alone would likely have been us a playoff contender. Given that it’s not BB coaching but rather a clown car, I think we stay a 2-4 win team next year.
lol, nothing makes my eyes roll more than the cliche of the “veteran mentor,” as if any professional athlete wants to train their replacement. Brissett is here on a one-year contract; he wants to play and succeed, so he can get a bigger contract next year. A rookie QB’s success if of zero...
His impact was so incredible that he played smackdab in the middle of the greatest 18 year run in NFL history, a run that saw the Patriots win 6 Super Bowls, and he didn’t win a single one. Great impact.
Yet another “cant-miss” high-first round pick WR who turned into a giant bust. DrAfT MhJ crowd in shambles.
As a reminder, the most recently drafted WR in the first round to have won a championship is Phillip Dorsett.
All together now: Wide receivers. Don’t. Matter.
Brady was a decent college quarterback who was barely drafted; to say, Belichick and the Patriots coaching staff didn’t play a role in his development is absurd.
What is the absolute best case scenario for Mac Jones (or even Justin Fields)? Maybe a slightly-above average season?
What would that amount to? Probably a Daniel Jones-type contract.
So even in the absolute best case scenario in keeping Mac Jones, we get screwed.
No, of course not; variance exists, especially in sudden-death sports like football where 7-game series don’t exist.
But there is a reason that over 50% of Super Bowls since 2000 have been won by Brady, Mahommes, Manning, or Rodgers- the four of which you can argue are Top 5 QBs of all-time...
