Yes, here and there they hit on one or two but overall they are terrible. I was watching Boston Sports Tonight and they hit the nail on the head: they don’t draft for need but for the best player available. So, if the best players available are offensive lineman they will draft them no matter whether they have holes at Safety, Linebacker, CB, DL, etc. If they need a safety because McCourty not only got torched in the Superbowl but is in his 30’s and slowing down they won’t move up to get someone who will improve the position over time.

They needed a DL who is a force? They needed a cover corner? They needed a Linebacker who can cover running backs? They needed our future QB?

So, what they do is when the football season starts if they are getting their asses kicked in the regular season they start giving away draft picks for other teams’ throwaways. Sometime they hit and sometimes they don’t.

They had four picks in the top 64. They should have gotten four rookies who will either start or get in the games in their first season given the holes on this team. Instead, they pick of an OL who might not be a LT, a running back in the first round with medical history, trade back twice in the second with basically not using one of these picks until next year, and drafting a CB who can’t cover man to man downfield. And no QB backup.

I watched teams like Tennessee trade up and get quality players ahead of the PATS. When Brady is gone, it’s over. BB will run to the hills. If we had a good, but not great QB we would be lucky to win 10 games every year because we lack talent in many positions.

Now we can look forward to drafting for our needs in rounds 4-7. Excited? U kidding me????????????? Atrocious.
