DRAFT Welcome to New England - Illinois Edge Gabe Jacas! (2nd round, #55)

I think that if Vrabel was going to bring in Clowney, he'd have done so last season. It was telling that Clowney didn't get signed until Mid-September by the Cowboys.
True. He's bounced around so many places. But if it should this season great!

When I started looking as Edge prospects, I initially felt that Malachi Lawrence was a fit.. But, as I researched Lawrence, I found that he relies too much on his speed to beat opposing OTs and doesn't have a whole lot of variety in his moves. He's also not very violent. Then I saw Jacas and he immediately became by Edge Binkie.. Jacas is violent. When you looked at his moves, he beat OTs with very deep variety of moves. Jacas has loads of power. But Jacas also has speed. Jacas uses his entire toolbox of moves to set up OTs. He always has a plan on how to set them up and beat them .

Jacas was the 1st Edge rusher I watched and I fell hard for his play style. His college coach said that he is a film buff and utilizes different pass rush plans based on who he is going against.

Imo, he is in the same mold as Boye Mafe, Kwity Paye and Derek Hall. He might not be as fast or have as good lateral quickness but Jacas I going to be a very good player. Temper expectations because he is probably not going to get double digit sacks or produce 60 or more pressures like the top tier guys.

Could see a Harold Landry esque production where he’s steadily an 8-10 sack per season guy. I’ll take it for sure.

He's got all the physical tools, but he is also bringing a relentless desire to be great, which is usually the difference between good and great players. When you bring it on every down you are eventually going to make big plays. If anyone has ever watched Lionel Messi play you will see him take multiple opposing players on and get denied repeatedly, but he never stops coming, and always make them pay in the end. He's relentless and they simply can't stop him all game long. Jacas is bringing the same mentality and he's going to make plays because you simply can't stop that all day long.

Vrabes following the BB/Pioli method of finding players.

Go out everyday and earn it.
