Dallas took Bryant at #24. Twenty-three teams passed on him. It took a team with an owner who has already sold his soul (see: phantom of the opera facelift) to pick him... because of both his love of physical talent at all costs as well as his (very real) business acumen. Jones won't EVER pass up the opportunity for the Cowboys to be a story, whether positive or negative.
The personnel guys in the NFL are the best talent evaluators in the known universe, period. Not us, not Albert Breer. And even they are 50/50 at best when it comes to evaluating the transition to the NFL. Most teams said "no" to Dez Bryant. If he is truly the best talent at WR in the last 10 years, he most likely would have been snatched up much earlier, character issues aside.
Bryant would be on the Pats if as a unit they agreed that he was right for the team. This is beyond a no-brainer. He was either removed from their board completely or would have been looked at as a low financial risk in the 2nd round. Time to let it go, Breer and company.
