It's funny, I've been out of the loop all day, turned on F&M around 6 driving home and it was all Revis, more talk about how they're still shocked the Pats didn't roll out the red carpet for Revis, didn't give him what he wanted because he's a difference maker.
Then this...and it validates everything I've said about those jackwagons and everyone like them: this is a business, it's about fitting 53 players onto a cohesive roster and making that roster work from 1 to 53, fielding the best possible team given the cap parameters. And BB has done that more successfully than arguably any GM in history. Yet detractors will ignore the very important aspect of making the cap work and factoring in player desires and just say 'sign the man, he's good!' Not only is it lazy, it's disingenuous, because it doesn't take a lot of thought to realize that cowing to Revis would mean no money for the rest of the roster. It's that simple.
Revis got his wish, good for him...I can't say I agree with his mindset but whatever, he helped us win #4. We just saw with Amendola, and have been seeing with Brady for years, that there are players out there who still value winning. I'll take those guys, and the mind of BB, any day of the week over Revis and a cobbled together roster.
