This isn’t hard…. they missed on Mac.

The 49ers missed on Trey Lance, but they had JimmyG and when he got hurt they had a wing and a prayer in Brock Purdy… who they hit on.

With a great/good QB this 2023 team has a winning record and is battling for the AFC East.

Go find a QB in the draft… this isn’t hard at all.

Was that sarcasm ? I’m guessing most qbs drafted are pretty much busts not withstanding where they get drafted. But I agree on this team having a winning record with a stud qb. But honestly they are far and few…

I'd be content with a monster tackle or 2 and a very good qb. Borderline stud would be doable. Please no ST only dudes. I think that will break me if they bring one in next year.

A couple of wicked good OTs would make even Mac look like an acceptable QB. For awhile. Then his processing speed (or lack thereof) and habit of throwing off his back foot would catch up and we’d see the same old INTs. That’s what scares me about keeping him around.

For ****s n giggles I just looked at all the qbs drafted since Brady. There were 273 qbs to be exact drafted over 7 rounds. Only about 40 are starters-ish. 5 hall of famers maybe if they play long enough. Thats about 15 % chance of getting an above average QB 2% chance of getting a hall of fame player IF all the stars are aligned ..getting a bad qb will obviously ruin an organization.

Of the 40, 5 have a chance of getting to the hall. And that’s over 80 % of drafting what we have now. What other teams have continuously done over the last 20 years while we basked in Tommy’s glow..

Mac isn't the only problem with this team. The roster is one of the worst in the league. Mac is as bad as he is in part because of his supporting cast. The OL is abysmal, our WRs suck. Is there anybody on the offense that can make a play?

Agreed!!! The offensive line is miserable. The tackles are pathetic, Andrew has been in decline. Worst offensive line ever!!! Wide receivers are almost as miserable and none could start for the university of Georgia this year!!!!!

We need bb to coach and get him out of the front office

You forgot the other choice, which looks like a more reasonable take considering the clvsterfvck of coaching he received. Bill ruined what little there was of Mac. That might explain Mac starting off so well and regressing so much.
