Mayo will be the new HC

We need to make sure that we keep the OC for multiple years especially if we intend on drafting a QB. We don’t want our next guy to go through the same musical chairs at OC that Mac did. It was beneficial to Tom to have stability with Charlie Weis for his first 5 seasons.

I’m hoping against hope that the Joan McD days are long gone and that Mayo, or whoever is named HC, gets someone who has fresher ideas on how to run an offense.

If this turns out to be true, that Mayo sabotaged BB with the willing assistance of Bob Kraft, and Mayo becomes the next Pats’ HC. I don’t think I will have it in me to follow the Pats anymore.

If I quit the Pats, I quit the NFL, which I have been close to doing anyway.

BB and Brady gave me more joy as a fan than I ever could have imagined, after watching the Pats be the dregs of the NFL for so long.

I will be happy to learn that BB has gotten the wins record and even more if he gets another ring with another team, but I wouldn’t be actively following.

I stepped away for a couple of years already, it is not that hard the way the league is now.

With the way things are going, I'm sure we're going to see articles accusing Mayo of the leaks and portraying him as a traitor. Should be a great start. If true, **** Mayo I wish him nothing but failure.

Yes it is but we have to trust Krafts Track Record of hiring Head Coaches Carroll then the GOAT. The Best part of our Team is still the Defense get Mayo legitimate help on the Offense and things could turn around.

Yup. I'll be very disappointed if Mayo is chosen over the likes of Vrabel, Harbaugh, Flores, Ben Johnson, etc. Seriously, WHAT has Mayo demonstrated to qualify him as head coach? He might have leadership qualities and be a bright guy, etc. but he's only coached four years and not even at the coordinator level.

Mayo is basically bill 2.0. When Jerry jones fired Tom Landry, they hired Jimmy Johnson and it worked out pretty well. It’s crucial we don’t **** this up otherwise it’s going to be a painful next couple of years

Mayo probably is the best choice.
He knows nothing but the Patriot way. All of the processes, systems and culture BB has embedded in the franchise can stay in place. He knows as much about a BB defense as anyone so should be able to continue some level of its success.
We are likely in for a long run of being on the outside looking in, so might as well give the good soldier a shot.

Nope. Been a fan of Curran right up until he jumped on the "**** On BB Bandwagon" and now I know why he did. He knew Mayo was next in line (correctly-no doubt) and added to a groundswell that would expedite that transition, much to his benefit.
Now I know why you defended him and now you know why I currently dislike him.

Kraft didn't fire Bill because of anything that Curran wrote. That's just nonsense. The decision was performance based in a results oriented business. I get that you're angry but think man.

The coach this year doesn't matter as long as it isn't BB. What matters is who the GM is and can he hit in the draft. Frankly if there isn't a good coach this year I'm perfectly fine waiting another year and tanking again. But if a good coach is available I sadly don't care what promises were made to Mayo. If he feels raw about it give him a bonus and a recomindation or give out/call in a favor to another owner. Personally im not a fan in general of former players coaching.

I don’t get all the negativity towards mayo on this board. Maybe he’s not a good coach, maybe he’s a star in waiting.

Honestly I have no idea. But fans acting already like he will be a bad coach is abit ridiculous.

Although I do feel vrabel is a better option just because he has a proven track record.

Only Vrabel is close to what Mayo can bring that none of those other names can offer. I'm good with Vrabel or Mayo.
