Colts are in for a beatdown

Ahhh Cheese, how could you? :p

Yeah, and the Patriots were in for a beatdown last Sunday.;)

The Colts are just too banged up to be scared of. I don't think we let our guards down again like we did in Cleveland and we demolish the Colts. I expect Brandon Tate and Aaron Hernandez to take big roles in this game. Anyone else getting the feeling that the Colts are going to get squished?

Wait and see... And because some of you guys are ignorant, this post is stating MY PREDICTION and not that this is going to happen.

Another curse! Why do you do this????

This "beatdown" talk seems to be the consensus on the Colts forums too. The main driving point is that our defense out-hit the Steelers this past week and that Brady is on fire right now.

Yes Brady played a great game in Pittsburgh. The offense played great, yes. So let's see if they can do it again. Can they deliver the same kind of performance that they delivered last week? Two back to back dominant games and this team sends a message not only to the NFL, but more importantly to themselves.

These are great games to watch, not always ending I want lately but great games none-the-less.

Look, the Colts are good. They still have #18. As long as he is there, we had better bring it.

How anyone in their right mind would 'overlook' this game or expect it to be easy in any way is beyond me.

I think some people have forgotten how inconsistent our team is. That is the #1 weakness of this team, IMO. One week they look great, the next week, not so much. When our team masters the art of consistency, then I will join the beatdown wagon. I don't know about the rest of you, but I have not seen them master that yet. Also, Peyton Manning is one of the best QBs in the NFL. If you think he's not going to pick our young secondary apart, think again. The younglings are learning, but they have a long way to go, IMO. This game is not going to be as easy as some people think. But if our guys come to play and execute well, they are more than capable of winning it.

If the Patriot team who showed up in Pittsburgh comes to play Sunday it will be a beatdown. However, if the Patriot team that gets off to slow starts is the who shows up then we're in for a nail-biter.
I do like the Patriots to win. My biggest concern is the discipline of this young defense. If they play smart they'll be fine. If they start to run around and get undisciplined Manning will pick them apart.
This game will be a big test in the maturity dept. for this D.
We know they have the talent. Question is can/will they play smart against the best pure passing QB they'll face this season?
Going to be fun to watch.

The Colts are just too banged up to be scared of.

I feel the need to correct this all 100 times it is posted. Between these two teams, the team with more players on IR, more starters on IR, more player games lost to injury, and more key starters lost to injury this year is the Patriots. You can look it up.

The fact that rookie and second year Patriot players intended to be eased into the rotation became starters by necessity doesn't change the fact that Bodden, Kaczur, McGowan, Faulk, Gostkowski, et. al. are as big a loss collectively as losing Dallas Clark, the always injured Bob Sanders, his backup Bullet, etc.

The Colts PR campaign on their "walking wounded" status is so impressive that Patriots fans are even buying it hook, line, and sinker.

Manning's top targets going into this season were Wayne, Clark, Garcon, and Collie. On Sunday you will see Wayne, Garcon, Collie, and a backup named Tamme. It's not "a practice squad" as they called it on Mike and Mike this morning, and Peyton is not "getting it done all by himself" anymore than Brady is.

Listening to Dennis and Callahan and they had a guy from Indy on the jack. He said that the feeling in the area isn't good. The fans feel a loss coming with Indy going to Foxboro. They also mentioned that Manning feels like he has no team around him.

You guys are stupid if you think an internet thread is going to "Jynx" the game. It's like optimistic threads aren't accepted here. If I'm right all you guys have to become my slaves. If I'm wrong then you can tie me to a post and beat the crap out of me. Sound good?

IN OUR HOME!

They are going to get it bad, the media knows it because I have heard zero talk, none. I heard more about the Browns game than this one, apparently its forbidden to discuss Brady having a better season than Manning, and Manning has yet to face the tougher defense in his division, or a few tough matchups coming up.

It's also hilarious that I'm looking at the "predict the score thread" and almost everyone is having the pats ahead by 2 touchdowns and of between 35-45 points scored. You will give me crap about this thread but then predict the same thing in the predict score thread?

smh2.gif

I swear people here never learn

Why is it ok to sob and cry about how we will get beat down (last week for instance) but then its a crime to have confidence.

If you ask me the pessimistic fans are worse, every other fanbase hates us and thinks we are overrated why not let the few NE folks have fun with our success? We don't coach the team so we don't make a difference.

Can we get to Manning like we got to Ben?

I feel better about this game than I have any Colts game outside of 2007, but I would be pretty surprised if this were a beatdown. I know we rag on Manning because he is a playoff choker, but this is the regular season, and Manning is almost as good as the best QB in the NFL.

Kontra's point is well taken, though. The Colts are terrible in cold weather. Add in the fact that they're injury depleted, and that the Pats appear to be clicking, and it adds up to a potential slaughter of biblical proportions. My question mark is the Pats. It's a young team, and there is no telling which team will show up on Sunday. It's the rookie rollercoaster, though I think we're seeing a rapid maturation of this team, and I'm hoping that they're moving beyond the up and down performances, whether from game to game, or quarter to quarter.

In any case, I don't buy into some sort of karmic connection between what is posted on patsfans.com and what happens on the field. Eh...

Lol, true :rocker:

It doesn't matter who is hurt, this is the best rivalry in sports and both teams are going to show up...

Well, the best in the NFL, anyway. It is very recent (last 7 years) and will not last beyond Brady-Manning.
Carolina-Duke and Sox-Yanks can also put up an argument.

We owe this team big time, that we all know, but let's stay humble, banged up or not, this is the Colts and #18 is still under center.

Really? You think like that even though the Colts have beaten us both at home and @ Indy in the last five out of six meetings?

IMO, your observation was true back in 2006. However, based on the last few years, the Dolts are correct in claiming that they own us big time.

EDIT - PLEASE DISREGARD. I READ 'OWE' AS 'OWN'.

Thats like I came online today and I was looking around and this is the first article I saw. Was Brady's emotionality a good thing? NAY: His exuberance was irrational
