Reggie White in his prime. Randall Cunningham. Buddy Ryan's ferocious D. Eagles lead this game 31-10 with under 9 minutes in the 4th. That's when a #12 at QB named Tom threw for over 400 yards and brought the Patriots back from the dead and sent the game to OT.
Living in a different market, it was so hard to get an opportunity to watch the Pats in those days.
My parents were strict so I would secretly turn on the Steelers game and hopefully score updates from time to time. Headline news would do sprits updates at 19 and 49 minutes on the hour.
The only visual I would get is watching NFL primetime on ESPN at 7pm.
It meant so much to me at the time!
(Kids have it easy these days.)
I watched this game live, but forgot the last minute of regulation and how close the Pats came to winning it. Tony Franklin went from Pro Bowl kicker in '86 to shanktastic in one year.
Love how there are TWO barefoot kickers in this game. Heh.
