2007 UDFA pick up thread

Yep...and I believe that Gutierrez, the poor man's Matt Cassel, is also still available.

:woohoo: My boy Gutierrez is on board! Make us proud, Matt!

The Patriots have the hardware to attract some of these UDFA's to camp, but I really don't see any roster spots available. That may scare off some potential propspects. I'm excited about 2007, but there may be some holes after this season. Especially at WR if Stallworth and Moss don't stick around.
But how do you hide a decent WR prospect for a year as insurance? Practice squad players aren't fully protected.

i'd love to see Darius Walker as a UDFA signing (I can't believe he didn't even get drafted), DeAndre Jackson was among my favorite CB's talent wise, so I would love to take a chance on him, and I'd also like to see them pickup a few other players.

There must be some very big issues with Walker and Jackson as they are still unsigned... And, yes, I find it surprising that they are unsigned.

I'm stunned that Walker is just sitting there. He never looked like a potential Tiki Barber but he clearly looks like another Kevin Faulk.

UPDATE: Supposedly Darius Walker and David Ball have BOTH been signed by the Bears

Rhema McKnight went to the Saints

Interesting that the Bears signed Darius Walker after drafting Garrett Wolfe

i guess they really want that type of back
let them fight it out in camp, and see which one can be that change of pace back

they got chris leak too right?

If Chicago cuts one of them NE could try and grab him up. I was hoping NE would get a third down back in this draft to replace Faulk, in the future.

i would too
although i dont know where within the 53 we could fit one
maybe we could get one and put him on the ps for now?

seriously, take a look at the depth chart
i did today and saw about 57 guys that should make it (lol, i know its early)
one thing is certain, we will hafta cut some good guys

there is no way david patten makes this team!

I guess it's a sign that he wasn't even commanding premium UDFA interest! Given your choice of teams, that wouldn't be the situation you'd naturally aim for.

I'm assuming he's a Chicago-area native as my starting point - though I'll admit I was more interested in the Harvard and Mass. kids than Walker who never sold me watching his games. Garret Wolfe is the kind of player I'd want to be competing for a roster slot against, he could turn out to be fantastic working against the big, fast guys in the NFL, but more likely he's going to have a harder transition due to his limited receiving and Special Team's background.

I read somewhere the Bears believe Wolfe is like Warrick Dunn

I guess that DeAndre Jackson's knee injury is worse than expected as he never got a chance to work-out for teams.

Its too bad that BB and Pioli aren't willing to take a chance on him, ala Eddie Jackson.

Can anyone who watched Nebraska Games explain why such a reported great special teamer like Andrew Shanle, who also seems to have good tangibles, hasn't been signed yet by anyone?

At 6'1 and 212, runnina 4.42 40, with a 4.09 shuttle and a 6.8 3 cone, I am surprised no one has taken a flyer on him.

I wouldn't mind seeing the Pats take him for the Practice squad unless someone has some more info.

Shanle was picked up by New Orleans
