I would agree. LaFell has shown a steady progression over the 4 practices I've seen. He seems more comfortable and confident. I think he'll be fine as long as we all keep our expectations in line. LaFell isn't an elite or so called #1 WR. He's a decent WR who can play both in the slot and outside. He's an asset to the running game and a bigger target in the red zone. Anything over 55 catches and 700 yds and 5 TDs would be a bonus. He has a large catch radius and will make some great plays. And because he's NOT elite, he will likely drop a few as well. Its just all part of the packageFor those asking about LaFell:
LaFell hooked up with Brady on a deep pass that was the play of the day in TC, according to a couple of sources that I've read today. Everyone agrees that in the 4 prior practices he's had some pluses and minuses, but today seemed to be a good day from what I've read.
He also beat Revis on a TD the other day, although it's hard to know what to take from that without seeing it in action.

Edelman also looked very good today from what I've read/heard.
I think the Pats are really going to try hard to spread the ball around more than in the recent past. Frankly it makes them harder to to defend if the defense doesn't have a focus.
Some other notes that come to mind.
I. I'm not going to comment on Garapolo after this. He looks fine in drills, so you know there is some physical talent there, but when faced with live competition, its clear (at least to me) that the game is much too fast for him right now. I hated the pick, and I can only assume that the brain trust see some future greatness in him. I bow to their assessment since they have infinitely more data to base that opinion on.
But the hard fact is that Garapolo, coming from E.ILL to the NFL is way too big a gap to expect to see anything approaching someone who is ready to actually play in games this year. He has a good arm and a very quick release, and we needn't bother to talk about him again until about 2016.
2. Ryan Mallet on the other hand is having an excellent camp. Iimho) Not only has he been throwing the ball well and making better decisions, he is showing a bigger personality than he's ever shown before. He's taking a bigger leadership role with the offense as well.
I think teams in the future will regret not trading for him. In the end, unfortunately, we are going to probably wind up with only a 3rd round comp pick in 2016 in return for his 4 years with us (along with being a legit back up for 3 years) I'm become more comfortable with thought how this team would fair if TB went down with a short term injury.
3. The closer you look, the more you miss. By concentrating on the DL, I completely missed what should have been the highlight of the camp for me, having Marcus Cannon playing RG with the first offense. My dream come true and I didn't even know it happened. Go figure.
