It's easy, and only takes a few moments. If they plan on doing the deal between March 20-22 and the April draft, why would the news leak now? Something is fishy. Either it happens now or it doesn't at all. BB doesn't show his hand like that.

It might just be a ruse. But, that WAS the report, so... here we are. Maybe Peppers doesn't fit under the current cap - but maybe other pieces are moving. Who knows ? Maybe he's gonna restructure to a prove-it deal (not that he has much left to prove) just so he can run away from Carolina and cash in Bodden-style in an uncapped '10.

There is an interesting thing about trades. There are always at least 2 parties involved. It might not be BB showing a hand.
Seems like a big price to pay (#34 overall I mean) for one year with a guy, no matter how good you think he might be. I can't imagine they would be doing this unless they thought they could get him for multiple years.
b.) Adam Seward is still available
True... Carolina could be leaking it to try to find a higher bidder.
"Patriots are going after Peppers? Oh sh*t, we gotta do something!"
Imagine a D with Peppers, AD, Seymour, Wilfork, Warren and Mayo in it. that's sick.
Stills smacks of guesswork, doesn't it?
