New England Patriots are unanimous pick to beat the Cleveland Browns: Staff predictions | cleveland.com

Nothing spells t-r-a-p game quite like the opposing team's sports writers saying things like, "The Patriots toughest opponent is boredom." I hate seeing the home town writers throwing in the towel like this.

I feel like they "played down" in the Houston game so it's certainly not out of the question.

Personally, I hate all the "they should win out, they should coast now" stuff from the media and others. They play the games for a reason, and even a bad team can have a great game.

To me the classic trap game was last week. The Patriots were going on the road after having just played two very good teams. In the previous contest they had an extremely emotional game that went from being way down to rallying for an unpredictable win, against a team that the media declared to be the best in the league, and against a quarterback who is constantly being compared to this team's quarterback. Oh yeah, there was a former Patriot player making his return in that game too.

Between what happened last week and what happened the last time the Patriots played Cleveland, I wouldn't expect the same type of letdown.

it seems like every game is a "trap" game.. my point is these are games patriots should win and everybody things they should so what should the clevland writters say? its a damn if you do damn if you dont

Pats have to win out and hope Peyton chokes and loses one down the stretch.

Weather is getting cold and there is no dome to protect his balls from freezing :)

I admire their objectivity.

Sportwriters at least want to appear objective. This is a 9-3 team who is virtually unbeatable at home (look at the home record) vs. a 4-8 team with a 3 game losing streak and a back up QB starting (although he might be slightly better than the starting QB). The entire world is picking the Patriots to win. Why wouldn't they?

Even the Patriots local writers pick the Pats to lose at times. They won't this week, but they do.
