Your signings beyond Haggans and Pace really don't make a whole lot of sense. BTW, Haggans is an OLB, and would have to learn the ILB in the Pats system, which is different than it was in the Steelers system.
Not exactly a UFA, but I can't start new topics and there isn't a really good place to put this. But I was reading something that the Falcons are entertaining offers for DeAngelo Hall. I would much rather have D'lo than a CB taken in the 1st round this year (if thats the direction NE goes). Yeah he has an ego and will want a big payday when his contract is up, but he is a legitimate young shutdown corner.
How about a sign and trade to save CAP more for the Falcons than us (Miguel?). The Falcons need a WR. Sign the extension on Donte and swap Stallworth for Hall?I completely agree with this...I think D.Hall is a great corner and can contribute immeadiately and could possibly be another New England success story.
Drayton Florence is the best cornerback on the FA market after Trufant who will be prohibitively expensive.
Florence is big and fast and is within budget. Could be a good replacement for Samuel.
I don't have confidence in Matt Cassel as a backup....I wouldn't be surprised if Cassel is moved and they bring in a vet backup and keep Gutz......
Ron Dayne is way over the hill and has never lived up to his potential........Ben Troupe could be interesting....he came out ahead of Watson in the draft and was great at Florida.......he may be worth a look......
Berrian....some have said he is avail.....would much rather see him here than Marty Booker......
