Most of us have had a chance to hear coach Mayo talk in his introductory press conference about the importance of having a black head coach on a 4-13 football team in a league of predominantly black players. Mayo and Thunder went on to discuss about the importance of racial diversity. Mayo is correct, 56% of NFL players are black: Share of NFL players by race 2022 | Statista
The obvious question that follows is whether the Patriots can be further improved with more white, indigenous, and Asian players? We all understand the importance of diversity, so to me, this sounds like a no-brainer. I hope the Patriots can focus on expanding their white/indigenous/Asian player base in the next draft so we can get back to our winning ways!
What do you all think? Can the team be improved with fewer black players?
