This makes no sense. Him being on active PUP (preseason) does not affect their ability to look at other players. He still would count as one of the 80 roster spots.Hell they can put him on the PUP list to look at a few extra players then when they know who will work or not pull him off it
Actually I prefer this... I would rather they are careful with him and ensure he's completely healed before he gets back. It's November-January that really matters.
