First Off, I think that the way that Brady is taking care of his body and he recently said he wants to play til he is 45, he will be the Pat's starter for at least another 2-3 seasons. I think
@patfanken is right, the 39 year old Brady is in much better shape than the 22 year old one who showed up in Foxboro in 2000. To his credit, Brady is a tireless worker. Not only that, now he has 16 years of experience and still has the body to execute, something the NFL has never seen in a QB, EVAH!
Secondly, there are exactly ZERO QB's in the 2017 draft that are worth a first round pick! There is no Luck or Winston. Look at last year, when teams traded a fortune for guys like Goff and Wentz! Who knows if those guys will end up being great QBs, but both of them were not worth the prices their teams paid to get them.
Which brings me to Jimmy. Garapollo looked great in his 1 and 1/2 games as a starter. But it was 1 and 1/2 games. He absolutely torched the Dolphins in that first quarter. Brady himself couldn't have played any better than Jimmy did to start that game off. The Pats should be able to get a very nice package for Jimmy, because he still has another year on his rookie deal, which means he is controllable for at least two seasons with a Franchise tag. The only thing that might hurt him is Osweiler's ****ting himself down in Texas. That might make teams think twice about coughing up so much for a guy who has only played less than 2 NFL games. If Jimmy were in his first or second year, I would say don't trade him, but now that he is coming up on the final year of his contract, I say ship him off to the highest bidder (in the NFC).
I really like Brissett,
I like his quick delivery, I like the fact that the Pats really seem to be high on him. I like the fact that he is humble and that his teammates seem to love him. Never under estimate how much it means that the other 10 guys in the huddle not only respect the QB, but like him and want to play hard for him, otherwise, you have Jay Cutler, Jeff George, etc., etc. etc. Now give him a few seasons to mature under TFB, then judge what he can do.
Look if both BB, Weis and Parcells agree that the kid can play QB in the NFL, I'm going to have to defer to their collective judgment.
