Merrill Hoge defending BB?

Re: Merrill Hoge Defending BB ??

I know, right? Never thought I'd see the day, either! And Cris Carter, too, which was rather surprising IMO. Also, Mike Greenberg, of all people, was vigorously defending BB all morning on M&M. He usually strikes me as pretty fair regarding the Pats/BB despite being a Jests fan, but I still didn't expect that. Although, I suspect he's just afraid for his Jests next week and is trying to butter up BB. :D If Schlereth defends BB later on NFL live, I'll probably really freak out. Then again, I expect Schlereth to hop off the BB/Pats bandwagon again soon (if he hasn't already) if McD doesn't start getting his Broncs back to winning.

I guess I should appreciate that some of the usual mediotic anti-Pats suspects are defending BB for a change, but really, it mostly just makes feel uncomfortable in some way. Hee.

When you see the replay he should be defended... it was a 1st down..

The end of the world must be at hand.

The result really doesn't matter.

He took a calculated gamble. He thought the chance that he could get a first down was higher than the chance of stopping the colts with 2 minutes and a time out. Considering that the colts had scored twice in less than 2 minutes (80 yard drive in 1:42, and 75 yard drive in 1:11), its a good shot, IMO.

He lost. That doesn't mean the decision was wrong.

The bad decision was throwing on 3rd down.

I had to take a second look at the TV I could not believe what the hell he was saying, too funny I think he was being nice just to rub it in:p

Have asked this question before and it is rhetorical at best, how about if the play that was called was essentially a Brady decision made at the line of scrimmage.. he went up to the line and if the defense had vulnerability he would run a play, if not just take the delay and back up Hansen 5 yards... he saw #33 on a Safety, and liked the odds... he took a shot.
