No interest in Colvin - injury worse than we thought?

I'm kind of surprised that no 3-4 teams have brought in Rosevelt Colvin for a visit. There are alot of 3-4 defenses that lack quality OLB's. Cincy is said to be converting to a 3-4 defense, and they have practically no LBs at all.

I know that Rosevelt Colvin's foot injury is at least part of the reason we cut him. I wonder if the injury is worse that we thought.

usually u bring him in to take a physical and meet with him but they cant do that when he isnt really healthy yet.

Which, by the way, could be a point in favor of "picking him up again" when his boo boos are all better. Restructuring by other means. But hey, if he can't catch on elsewhere, you know he's worth signing back.

Foot injuries can be the worst healers. Tiny bones, little blood circulation.

but maybe colvin will be in a pats uni next year...i sure wouldnt mind...

then we can have 3 great players at OLB with colvin thomas and vrabel, and two know how to play inside....

so in essense we would then only need one ILB starter, with bruschi/seau sharing the other spot, and spot duty from one of the OLB's...

We have spent so much time on SG and what happened in the SB to really realize that we lost a bunch this year. Morris, Colvin, Brady was dinged, as was Neal and Seau and Hobbs ... in a way it's amazing we made it to the big dance.

Does anyone know whether players can (do) buy insurance to restore their lost salary when they are cut because of injury?
