You'd think that over the years he could develop some kind of situation-specific specialty somewhere either on offense or defense. I understand and appreciate his role on special teams but it just seems he should be capable of doing more, even if at a minor backup level.If he wasn't such an elite STer he would have been cut b/c he really can't do anything else out there. Bad hands, can't track the ball, cant get separation and whatever reason he can't play on defense.

Truly the Steve Tasker of this generation.It's a shame special teamers don't make the hall because Slater would be headed there.

I've always sort of expected him to just do that one year and have that added to the lore. But that will probably happen at the same time that Bolden does it too.
1 year? Slater is getting up there in age too, maybe it's a farewell season for him.
Not sure I follow. Bolden is functional in the passing game. Hes lined up wide a few times and has hauled in some 20+ yard throws.
For Slater it's like its his first time out there every time.
