OT: Pete Carroll out as SEA HC

This will effect the Patriots if BB is moving. Seattle will not dilly dally and you better hope that they aren't interested in who the Krafts are coveting.

They may not "dilly dally" but it still takes time to interview the guy you want, plus pretend to interview minority candidates to satisfy the Rooney Rule.

Going 3-5 down the stretch killed him.

I am very surprised at this move. Seattle's problems haven't been the HC, in fact I think Carroll got Geno to seriously overachieve.
Yeah, I thought this was his best coaching. Didn't have the load of talent that their SB teams had but had them playing pretty well and Geno playing well above expectations.

This was one helluva surprise. As the kids would say “I’m shook”. The statement gives off the impression that Carroll wanted to take a step back. Shocking development.

I’m pumped and jacked! BB successor? Bring back Bobby Grier too while we’re at it! ;)
Too old, just like Belichick. These dudes need to be put out to pasture, or shifted to the front office strictly as consultants.

This one is a surprise... I'm not sure what else he could have done, seemed to still be doing a good job. He's also 72, it sounds like they told him they want to move on from him and he said he's too old to start up in a new city so wanted to stick around in a gig upstairs.
