Edmonton > 44 points ... LW Taylor Hall ?
Toronto > 49 points ... C Tyler Sequin ? BRUINS -
Carolina > 55 points ... D Cam Fowler or D Erik Gudbranson
I don't follow hockey super closely so is Sequin a Crosby level player or are we not going to see another crosby/ovechkin type player come out for a while....I was hoping with all these picks we could get a stud to pair with Lucic for the next years....
Neither is a Crosby but they both will be front line players in a few years.
Kessel has something like 30 goals this season...that would have been nice to have this year. Hopefully we get some outstanding players in the draft
Would it be worth trading it back into 2011 meaning that it may not be as high a pick? If what you are saying is the talent isn't extremely strong at the top why select one of them and pay them bigger money when we could possibly trade into 2011 and maybe draft further back but get a solid player for less money? I am not big into amatuer hockey so I don't know who would be available but it's just a thought....
Seems like this is a down year in the draft....like that year Patrick Stefan, the Sedin twins, and Pavel Brendl went top 4. Neither Hall nor Seguin would've cracked the top 5 the last few years.
I really doubt we go with Sequin if we stay in the #2 slot. I think we take Hall if we get #1 or if Hall is there at #2. We don't really need a center right now. A slight trade back would get us Fowler, Gormley, or Gudbranson.
So that's my guess ... either Hall or a trade back to one of the 3 defenders.
Outside shot of a tradeback to get Nino Niederreiter who could well be the steal of this draft.
He is the kind of player we sorely need ... a high energy open the ice up for other players kind of player.
Marc Savard would lead the league in assists if he had Nino on his line.
hey guys, don't forget, it's a lottery draft. As of today, going into the last weekend of the season, the oilers have a 48% chance of landing the top spot and the Bruins have an 19% chance. It IS possible to get the top pick.
Taylor Hall - explosive player, great skater, not very physical
Tyler Seguin - can build a team around him, reminds me of Pavel Datsyuk.
I don't think the B's need another center like Seguin, as has been mentioned above. Hall would fit perfectly on the Bruins top line with Savard and Recchi. The B's need top scoring wingers more than anything. The downside is that Hall is a native of Alberta, so the Oilers fans want him bad.
Okay ... who is watching the draft lottery tonight ...
