He might well be indicating that it is a step up in his career now that he has a solid contract and will have a good role with the Giants.“(I made this) decision with my family,” Vereen said. “At the end of the day, I wanted to make a decision that was right for us, right for them, and this is a great organization. I was fortunate enough to play in New England with another great organization. This is not a step down; if anything, it is a step up. I am looking forward to the opportunity, and I am enjoying being in New York.”
I think he wanted to return, BB didn't even answer the phone when he called...like a boss. Vereen is probably pissed.Yeah, I don't care, but I also don't understand it.
He knows absolutely nothing about the organization as he's been there for barely a day, they're currently a losing organization for 2 straight seasons, and outside of WR and certain DL positions they are a step down at basically every position on the roster.
Makes you wonder if he never considered returning to NE and had some internal disputes we never heard of.
I agree with Kdo5. I don't see it as a shot at us.“(I made this) decision with my family,” Vereen said. “At the end of the day, I wanted to make a decision that was right for us, right for them, and this is a great organization. I was fortunate enough to play in New England with another great organization. This is not a step down; if anything, it is a step up. I think he means more playing time. Like a step up in more snaps. We are a RB by committee.@art_stapleton: Shane Vereen on leaving Patriots for Giants: "This is not a step down; if anything, it is a step up.''
Thoughts?
There's nothing wrong with what he said.
My thoughts exactly. No offense to Vereen but I'm hoping for a step up from him. He had a MONSTER Super Bowl but was a so-so player overall. Good pick as he gave us some solid years and had a great game when needed. But he was no more than a good, solid player.
