The writing was on the wall at the point where we added so much ST help. I was speculating that we would go with 2 TEs but trading away JB created this snowball effect where WR5 got completed and maybe created that open slot. There must be something about Hollister they really like. To be honest I havent seen anything special in his preseason games but what do I know.

I was a bit bothered with JO's attitude on ST . looked a bit “lazy“.
But he can still be on 53 and Hollister on PS in couple of days or later.

Lots of college production in a good conference. Has shown some NFL abilities so far, slot position is becoming more valued across the NFL

When did he show any consistent NFL level abilities ? He was undrafted and was not able to stand out at all against second and third stringers. I hope for his sake that no one claims him and he finds a place on the PS here. Otherwise no one will even remember his name in a few months.

I agree. I think the window to get the switch done is around the season opener. Other teams have their gameplan set and are going through it and not particularly likely to cut players at that point. That being said, as long as none of the new ST players gets injured we can keep JO on the PS (if he makes it) as insurance and keep developing whatever it is they see in Hollister.

Did someone say Grissom was cut? What an awful third round pick. They tried to replace him at Oklahoma, couldn't find a place there! How in the world did he go that high in the draft?

So, around pick #100 (end of the 3rd, start of the 4th), the Pats double-dipped at DE. They got one high-value special-teamer and one excellent DE out of it.

I'm happy with that.

Well the main issue with Dorsett is the question how he will take to the Pats offense system. With Lucien you know exactly what he can do and what he cant. I guess he will be mostly used as decoy and on simple routes in the first 4-6 weeks. Either way, even if he starts very slow I would not judge him until after the BYE. He will need some time to absorb stuff..
