Anyone who says Cam didn’t suck during the second half of the year shouldn’t be allowed to post on this board.

But, but, but, covid... (So silly)Anyone who says Cam didn’t suck during the second half of the year shouldn’t be allowed to post on this board.
And I would add that he started to suck in the first halfAnyone who says Cam didn’t suck during the second half of the year shouldn’t be allowed to post on this board.
Completely agree! The Patriots were on fire that year. 10-0 until Lewis, Edelman, Blount and Gronk were injured. That offense was special. Could have been Brady best year after 07. Everything fell down the drain after that. I remember the ghost of Jackson in the last game against MIA. It was so pathetic.Newton won the MVP in 2015 because his team went 15-1, because his 10 rushing touchdowns made him the NFL's TD leader that season and, quite possibly, because of the politics of it all. But, statistically, Brady and Palmer actually had better seasons than Newton. The fact that the final vote was so lopsided (Newton 48, Brady and Palmer 1 each) serves as a powerful example of narrative over truth. Cam Newton was not better than the 3rd best QB in 2015, yet he won the MVP.
Y’all ungrateful....
he’ll be better this season. I hope he’s better than jimmy too so y’all can look stupid.

If we were more grateful it would undue the damage from two surgeries on his throwing shoulder and turn back time... sounds legit.Y’all ungrateful....

He didn’t replace Cam because he had to replace him with replacement players. For what exactly should we be grateful to him?
I also believe that Cam will be better this coming season...After all, when you're the Worst QB in the league with as many starts as he had last season, then there's nowhere to go but up...But now Bill has a viable Plan B in place, and he's chasing Papa Bear & Shula (the Real Reason he started Cam vs the Jete), so he's not going to give him nearly as much rope as he did when Hoyer & Stid were his only options.
I watched some film from OTAs. His mechanics haven’t changed much.Saying you’re apolitical is... a political thing to do.
believe me I get your points...
20 spoiled years, now ungrateful... rushing Mac, not seeing the potential of the mechanics change. I’m excited for both qbs.
he’s in between ‘15 and ‘20. That’s it. That’s what I’m saying.
additionally, his working on his mechanics should be heralded here as a good thing, but...

Cam can’t throw the ball accurately and he can’t execute pre-snap reads well, two pretty important QB tasks in the Patriots‘ offense. How much nuance do you need? The way you guys defend Brady youd think he was paying your bills. Jesus. Don’t take it personally. The evaluation of our qb (Brady ain’t our qb man) needs more NUANCE.
Never underestimate the ability of some here to shoehorn Tommy Boy into every thread/discussion. They won’t be able to move on from him until the patriots win a Super Bowl without him, and maybe not even then. But Brady's irrelevant to the Cam situation. I don't care that Cam is eccentric in many ways, I sort of care that the team reportedly really does follow his leadership. I don't actually know why. "His men would follow him anywhere -- not because they thought they would be led to victory, but out of a sort of morbid curiosity such as one finds at train wrecks and natural disasters..." I mainly just care that we have a good QB, and that if Cam is still not one, then the rookie is. (Because Hoyer is just Cam without the upside, and if there is anything to Stidham, by this point, I would be shocked.)
Anyway who knows. Welcome to open competition for QB in New England. Weird feeling.

Never thought of that. Could be true. I figured he just understood Stid was not worth starting and he was probably right about that. For what exactly should we be grateful to him?

Half this board should be thanking @Ian for letting them come back everyday to post. It's almost a civil service he's doing bc they might actually venture outside and cause real problems if not for the site.Anyone who says Cam didn’t suck during the second half of the year shouldn’t be allowed to post on this board.
7 rings, 6 with us. Loved those 6. Loved TFB while in New England. Now? I don't care if he loses his job with the Bucs because Mo Lewis has a son named Viktor Lewis who has been hate-training in the Ukraine for the day that he can get the Bucs' heir apparent that Brady Bookend moment. Sorry, Creed II was available last night, watch it, it's pretty good.Never underestimate the ability of some here to shoehorn Tommy Boy into every thread/discussion. Fair points, I just actually believe in the “nobody’s above the team” stuff. I would’ve let Brady go back in ‘17, be better for him, us, and Bill too. It was becoming toxic. He wanted weapons, Bill either thought it was too late or selling out, or both. I’ll take Bill
and yes man, cams below average but I think he has potential to snap off some good ones, and last year was just as much an anomaly as 15-1.
don’t wanna whore out the values/team for one more ring. Like the challenge of rebuilding for two, three more.
