PostGame Thread 2023 Week 8: Patriots fall 31-17 to the Dolphins

Immediate Postgame Reactions
It’s a sad state of affairs to almost envy Jete fans…but…

P-A-T-E…..PATS…..PATS…PATS !!!

The league hates New England. Every week. I can’t believe this game was close in the 4th…then I think back to the calls that hurt. DPI in the end zone, no call on blatant Miami holding, cheap call on Godchaux, awful no call on the Parker hit…

Just on and on, but even if the Pats got this calls, I have little doubt in the outcome. Mac Jones is a backup NFL QB.

Sign Onwenu. Sign Dugger if it’s not ridiculous. Any other player not on a rookie deal should be up for trade (and a couple on rookie deals).
Stop it with the league “hates us” ****. The Team sucks, period. If you can’t see that then you’re fing blind. No talent, it’s obvious.

“No matter how much you've won, no matter how many games, no matter how many championships, no matter how many Super Bowls, you're not winning now, so you stink.”

Bill Parcells

The bones of the team are probably around a .500 team with a more league-typical schedule. They need to replace the QB and probably the coach and GM to turn the corner and contend again.
No they are not.

So Tua is now 6-0 vs Bill. Tua is Bill's Daddy.

This board was quiet last week. Now that the Pats lost again, let's see how many threads emerge to fire Bill.

The sad thing this is one of the few games that Tua has actually played particularly well against the Patriots. Many of the games, the Pats beat themselves as much as the Dolphins beat them. That is on Belichick.

To be a successful organization in professional sports, you need something to sell to your fan base. Winning, hope for the future, or entertainment are three things that teams can hang their hat on. Right now, the Calgary Flames are not selling any of those elements to their smart, dedicated, loyal fan base.
The Calgary Flames are a directionless organization. They’re not good enough to be a legit contender for the Stanley Cup (they might not even be good enough to make the playoffs). We don’t think they’re bad enough to bottom out and get a high draft pick. They’re not a fun team to watch. There are no star players. There are no players or play on the ice that get the fans out of their seats. What is there to cheer about right now?

This is from article few days about Flames (I'm from Calgary). Unfortunately, it's applying to my Pats as well.

Hill interview after the game… like man like man… like… man… like
I can see english is not his strong suit

Nobody is out to get the Pats. Every team gets bad calls. When I watch games with friends who like other teams, they are always complaining about the refs.

that is good news?????
They need talent everywhere. How is getting a middle of the pack draft pick good news?
In what universe?

I'm looking for 9 wins. It's got to be somewhere around here.

I hate Hill. He is absolutely uncoverable. So unfair.
And now losing Parker, it may have been lining up nicely but then Bourne got hurt. Who knows how bad it is.
Next week we're at least without those 2. So, have to imagine Thornton & Boutte get activated.

I hope Kraft was watching today and saw what a real NFL offense looks like in today's NFL. Tua on his own is nothing special. Tua with all those fast players at skill positions is an MVP candidate. No matter who the QB is going forward unless they are lucky enough to draft another true HOFer, that is the way you have to build your team. Arguably the three best teams in the NFL have QBs who aren't elite or anywhere near elite, but have elite offenses because of who is around them - Miami, Philly, and San Fran.

Mac Jones our QB going forward? No way. That lazy throw near the end of the first half is egregious.

LOL. I thought the misspelling was a nice touch, or maybe it's sort of a displaced spelling or something.

For as great as Miami looked today, they may look just as bad next week. That is not a great team. What they are able to do is beat the teams they should.

I thought that would be the 2023 Patriots. Beat lesser teams. Now, you have an average Washington team at best looking at the schedule and saying: "We have stunk. But New England is up next. We can get this turned around."

Carolina wins, zach Wilson sacked for 15 yard loss on 4th and forever. Jets lose to Giants.

Tanking is for losers but that’s exactly what this is. Mind as well be good at something.

Lots of cap space, some high picks finally, Judon and shutdown Gonzales come back strong. Future is bright.
Tanking for teams not owned by Kraft.

There will be no tanking until Kradt sells the team.

I think I’ve said that a hundred times, bud. I predicted six wins this year (optimism).

But NE is getting screwed every week back two years, when they lost 2 games on ridiculously bad calls.

The refs today were horrible and one-sided.

But yes, the Pats still stink.
