NFL GAME DAY DISCUSSION NFL Playoffs: Sunday Wild Card Game Day Chat

Same with the 49ers. It's nice to know there are winning exceptions to the tiresome "quarterback is everything" hamster wheel.
If Purdy was a 1st rounder he would be hailed as a great young QB. But since he was a 7th rounder it must be anyone but him. Sounds very familiar too.

Anyone who watches him play should tell that he is a very good QB. He will do well and win a lot for a long time.

That’s why I shy away from Daniels at #3. If Williams or Maye are there, yes, take the QB. But if both are gone, Daniels is an overdraft at 3 IMO. I would rather take the generational WR in MHJ and trade a 3rd plus a 2025 pick for Fields. Is he amazing? No, but he’s not awful and he’s improved year over year. McDaniels can be his best friend. Fields, MHJ, Pop, Rhamondre and a great defense has a chance to be a playoff contender I think.

"So it's not gonna be easy. It's going to be really hard; we're gonna have to work at this everyday, but I want to do that because I want you. I want all of you, forever, everyday. You and me... everyday." - Goff’s speech to the team in the locker room

I'll be stunned if the 49ers aren't in the Super Bowl, if you asked them who they'd of liked to win i'm pretty sure they wanted the Rams out cause funny things happen in Division games the 3rd time and the Packers coming to their place for their first game.
Packers may be the top threat. The way they played today was a little terrifying.

It's a weird postseason. I literally have no idea who will be left standing in a few weeks and wouldn't be surprised if there isn't another upset before it's over. Obviously curious to see how tomorrow turns out.

I think the Packers are in for a rude awakening next week we can't forget this is the team who in the last 6 weeks lost to the Giants, lost to the Bucs by 14 and only beat the Panthers by 3, the Cowboys were pathetic today and were leaving guys 20 yards wide open.

I see SF are favored by 9.5, i think they cover that.

It wouldn't shock me if this is one of those 24 point blowout games, these teams who have a stunning upset in round 1 of the playoffs going on the road to a well rested superior team don't have a good record.

Although the only guarantee in playoff football is the Texans are gonna be playing the 4:30ET game on a Saturday.

That's not enough in a loaded AFC with Stroud, Mahomes, Herbert, Lamar, Allen, Burrow, Richardson, and Lawrence.

You have to factor in the competition in this scenario.

Getting Fields and MHJ would be quite a coup. Then spend the next couple picks on offensive linemen. (Looks like you believe McDaniels is coming back.)

I agree....unless SF implodes.

But all of the pressure is on the 49ers. Packers are playing with house money.

A good question is whether Love is a flash in the pan. Or, the real deal who can win a SB.

Lions set to face either Philly or Tampa... They beat the Bucs 20-6 in week 6... they didn't play the Eagles

Yeah that is my assumption. If he doesn’t then not sure I feel as strongly about the above.

Picture the Cam Newton offense that Josh ran except with Fields so the passing game is better, Fields isn’t hobbled like Cam, their RB is better, and also their top target is the best WR prospect in years instead of Damiere Byrd…

I’m just not sure I’ve ever seen a QB look so horrible, then flip around to look nearly unbeatable, all in the same season.

He’s a strange and unpredictable QB to watch. That’s what would make me very uneasy if I’m the 49ers.

I would be head over heels if we got MHJ and fields. It's my preferred route to go unless Maye or Williams drop to us.

The 49ers don't have Dak Prescott the phoniest of QBs

I think the Steelers have a punchers chance. And I think Philly is done. Maybe their talent superiority beats Tampa. But they are cooked one way or the other before the Divisional round concludes.
