A bit of news from Jets-ville:

Sources: First coaching move by Jets: Intern Mike Smith, who was instrumental in reviving A. Maybin's career, will be hired as new OLB coach

Twitter

Imagine if this were the reason Tennenbaum was added to the 3pm press conference, and it's not Schottenheimer getting the axe.

The cries of the Jets fans will be glorious indeed.

Are 2 equally popular fan sites common? seems like JI is more realistic GG delusional. I'm a late comer to the internet fanbase's excuse the noob questions

Jets Implosion 2011-12:popcorn:
Funny as I see it the reverse. But it only goes o show you about perception

And Jets fans embrace Holmes's heroic actions.

Santonio Holmes is a HERO, People.

SAR I the contrarian attention whore is no longer banned! :p
Also he's getting Jets fans to "come over to the dark side" and embrace the goal go getting Rex fired. That's not good for Pats fans. :(

EDIT: Tune, I've known SAR since early USENET, He is not reasonable. Totally into the Dark Side

Ha, ha Rex and the Jets, in the words of a great man "suck my d**k New York Jets"

Francesa: "Yeah, I cried too. I cried a lot. I've been crying for 42 years."

God...This is turning me on.

I'm sure your right, I've only been to GG once before in regards to nasty Gutter scum comments about MHK.

Rex Ryan is crying, Complainian is calling out teammates, Bart Scott refusing to speak to media and flipping them off, Revis also refusing to speak...

HAPPY NEW YEAR :singing:

He can go home and suck his wife's toes. He has it good, trust me.

OK, I'm at work listening to WFAN and Francesa just had an awesome rant. I took notes (yeah, slow day). This is not 100% word for word exactly or all of what he said but gets a lot of it. Enjoy:

"
(Message to Rex): Everybody chases the Super Bowl; everybody who is attached to an NFL team chases the Super Bowl every year. There is a difference between chasing a Super Bowl, and talking about it every time you open your mouth. ...

In three years they don't have a division title, they've never had a home (playoff) game. They've chased a lot of character guys out of the building.

What has to change now is Rex has to grow into a full version of being a coach. You cannot stand there and say "I don't know anything about (Holmes being benched)." To say you don't know anything about it is embarrassing. .. Are you running the place or are you not running the place? It's either an out and out lie or the dumbest thing I ever heard in my life.

(Points out that when Holmes was benched they didn't know know Tennessee wasn't going to OT. IE, Jets were still in it for all they knew.)

You are not in control there. You're admitting you're not in control.

See, the idea of well it's Rex and it's Rex's way .. that's all gone. It's all gone now.

This year they were 8-5 and they couldn't finish. They were an awful team with a bad quarterback (when the season finished).

They chased character guys out of the building, and they replaced them with guys who have talent but no character. .. this has become a front-running bunch that has no toughness. They talk tough, they aren't tough.

The head coach ... has to get smarter and better. He has to change his words. Otherwise he comes off looking like a clown, like a fool. ... He has got to pay less time worrying about what his talk, his what his message is and getting commercials, and worry about running a team as good coaches do. .. It's a big step backwards for the Jets. Do they have to do anything earth-shattering? No. ... Ryan has a plus body of work here, but he took a big step backwards. His grace period is over. When you're 8-5 and you make huge statements and you don't back them up, it's time to be quiet.

Holmes has shown himself this year to be a slefish me guy who doesn't care about anyone else. That's why he was given away.

Bottom line right now is Jets have crashed and burned. Can it be fixed? Yeah. They have to be smart enough to fix it. Not care about how it plays in the media, they have to fix it. The offensive coaches have to go. (Not all Schotty's fault) .. it's a bad mix (of coaches on O).

Let's not forget, this defense was very ordinary. .. And that (Dolphins) 21-play drive ... speaks volumes about this season. Westhoff had a terrible year with special teams. It's not just offense and QB and playcaller, it was the netire team. There's a lot that has to be fixed. But the first thing is knock off the tough guy talk and figure out how to coach better.

I'm tuned in, this has potential to be GOLD, Jerry, GOLD!

PC is running late. Fancesca: Just like everything else they can't get the clock right on this one either.

JESTer fan have "just discovered" that Santonio Holmes is a talented pile of dreck. Now they are talking of trading him and his $50 million dollar contract. Such obliviousness! Who will pay that kind of money for a #50 rated WR? N-O-B-O-D-Y!!

They forget that the Steelers dumped him for a mere 5th round draft pick, despite a great catch in the Superbowl. They knew he was a uncoachable loser. He is still only one infraction from being suspended for a year by the League for drugs. OTOH he is a much "better character" individual than Cromartie and his dozen illegitimate kids with nine different women.

Meanwhile the JESTer circular Firing Squad is assembling and blasting away, at guilty and innocent without discrimination, since they are football illiterate.
