Good Morning Cousins,
Looking through the interweb on different Draft sites late last evening I found this little ditty. It was on a N.Y. Giants site so you know they are involved. It sounds like one of those "definite maybe" scenarios but interesting and possible if you go through the numbers.

For my breakfast Fans. A mundane Weds offfering. Just cereal with added almonds, blackberrys and bananas and home made banana raisin bread tosted with butter, pepermint tea and cranberry juice.

OK Ready?

The Players=The Patriots, The Cardinals and the Giants

The Set-Up=A three way NBA style trade to get each Team their desired Draft on Day 1.

The Hook=The Patriots own pick #3 and it appears will have their choice of Drake Maye or J.J. McCarthy. Maye is the N.Y. Giants apple of their eye and Monte in Arizona likes to wheel and deal and looking at his roster it sucks as bad as ours....I was shocked. He needs some more better picks.
Now I am not a Fan of McCarthy but he seems to have a certain je ne sais quoi. If we listen to some of the Draft lies being bandied about, our fearless leader Wolf seems to like that boy.
O.K., JJ has some skills and a winner record, but his mental health issues (depression) one would hope are in the past. He had played under Harbough so he has had NFL type coaching. In all I have seen, he was successful with the least amount of WR talent present in the Holy Three. Nobody talks about that. Daniels had a NFL corp of WR. Maye had different talent in 2022 and 2023 at WR.

The Giants have the #6 pick in Round 1, and pick #47 in Round 2, and #70 in Round 3. And of course a #1 pick in the 2025 Draft.

The Cardinals have pick #4 and have a WANT/need for one of the top three WR in this class........but if they could gain a pick or two, Monte says why not?.
1. WR MARVIN HARRISON JR., OHIO STATE · 2. WR MALIK NABERS, LSU · 3. WR ROME ODUNZE,

The Tale= There would have to be an iron clad agreement between the three Teams.
1)The Patriots would have to agree to Draft Maye with the purpose of flipping him to the Giants.
2)The Cardinals would have to agree to Draft McCarthy with the purpose of swapping him to the Giants for which ever WR The Cardinals have requested that the Giants Draft
3) The Giants would Draft a WR at pick #6 then use it's Draft resources to make the deal happen through the Pats and Cards.I would suppose the Giants offer Monte their WR of choice for McCarthy plus the Giants would kick in pick #47 in the Second round. The Giants would then flip McCarthy, their #1 in 2025 and their Third round pick #70 to the Pats for Maye.

So Monte gets a top 100 pick second rounder for his efforts and still gets a top three WR at pick #6.Pick. #70 is worth 430 Draft Value Points. The Broncos and the Raiders could offer up years of #1s but also the Broncos do NOT have a second Rounder. Monte will NOT get in position to get one of his top three WR at pick #12 and pick #13. Perhaps Monte takes the sure thing with this three way?

Fearless leader Wolf gets one of the top 4 QBs and the one that is rumored he likes in McCarthy, a First rounder in 2025 and a #70 Third Round pick for Friday.

The Giants get their man Maye that they would not have gotten from the Pats with only offering #6, #47,#70 and a 2025 First Rounder. The Giants probabaly saved a First Rounder in 2026.

The Shut Out=Why do this three way? The Chargers are still in play at pick #5 and someone (Raiders,Broncos?) could have offered a "bag" to get McCarthy....and the Cards Drafted him.

and The Sting
? Who and what is the player that has been mentioned. All three rosters are mezza mezza. Budda Baker of the Cards? Andrews of the Gianst or were the Giants trying to pawn off Daniel Jones? Both Baker and Anrews are players perhaps the Pats can use. Can you posters think of any more?

Sorry if I don't have the major details on this rumor supposedly in place by the three Teams involved pending how the first two picks take place.. This rumor has not been getting any notice that I have found Nationally. The newest "breaking news" element was that a current player is involved. Team? Player?

The numbers say this can happen. It's wild but would ya?

What is the source here exactly?

Seems like the Giants are giving up a lot to move up three spots.

And if Washington drafts Maye then the whole deal is moot.

And Cousin, your breakfast was a-ok.... you need to up your breakfast game...some of us live vicariously through your breakfasts...

This, like most talk of three ways, is a pipe dream.

One more day til the draft....

I have hardly looked at the forum the last couple weeks. I love the draft as much as anyone but the endless scenarios, threads about smokescreens, threads about specific players, and all the other various speculation is too monotonous.

talk about a drama write up..my gosh

I don't think that can happen. Draftees are unsigned and only the team that drafted them can sign them.

You can absolutely trade the rights to drafted players. It's happened several times.

Not on draft night... they're not signed yet. A scenario like this sounds complicated to execute.

Are you sure? Consider Eli Manning and John elway, Both were drafted by one team and then traded on draft day.

True but maybe the rules were different then I can't remember. Today I'm sure you can't trade anyone who is not signed and draft picks are unsigned. Only the drafting team can sign them.

Once teams are assigned their draft positions, each pick is an asset: It’s up to the club’s executives to either select a player or trade the pick to another team to improve its position in the current or future drafts. Teams may negotiate trades at any time before and during the draft and can swap draft picks or current NFL players to whom they hold the rights.

This to me says you can't pick someone in the draft and trade them on the same night. Just the pick itself or a signed player. New draftees aren't signed yet and they're non-assets until they are.

Three ways always sound great at first but they almost always lead to regret and mistrust.
