You are sopping up their propaganda with fervor there, my friend. Algebra was Assyrian in origin. The Assyrians were conquered by the Islamic Arabs. Similar stories in the other areas you outline. Some madrassas evolved into something resembling a European university, but it certainly wasn't something the West borrowed from Arab culture. Arab culture has produced little of use to humanity.

It is true that many Muslims have degrees and are doctors and engineers. Osama bin Laden had a degree in Civil Engineering. Mohammed Atta was in a doctoral program for urban planning in Germany. Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh (Daniel Pearl's killer) attended the London School of Economics. Bashar Assad is an opthalmologist. A fat lot of good that "education" has done.
