It's easy, and only takes a few moments.right now its just phone calls front office people calling agents to get a feel for what that player wants and if that player has a market at that price and if the team wants that player they will put there bid in and when Tuesday comes around that's when the news hits
It just seems quiet because there is no Patriots news. There won't be much this offseason IMHO.
That's what should be happening.right now its just phone calls front office people calling agents to get a feel for what that player wants and if that player has a market at that price and if the team wants that player they will put there bid in and when Tuesday comes around that's when the news hits
Don't get bummed out DR, the Patriots will make their share of moves and if history is the guide they will be a better team than they were going into last season. They are patient and thorough and they usually do a really good job in the off-season so don't let the chicken littles get in your head.
I think that it is reasonable for a player to leak his intention to sign with a team on Tuesday night or Wednesday. That's what should be happening.
Yes, the team may be better than last year, or not. Last year's acquisitions were truly amazing. Belichick added Revis, Browner, Chung and Butler to the secondary. Belichick added LaFell and Wright to the offense. He found Ayers, Casillas, Branch and Blount during the season. The team needed OL help, and Belichick drafted Stork and Fleming. In addition, the new OL coach had schemes to transform Connolly and Wendell into solid starters. A new team doctor was especially critical. Injuries seemed much lower than in the past few years.
As fans, we expect a repeat. After all, free agency hasn't even started. If it started where we are now, we would be $15M under the cap with the ONLY the following players to re-sign or replace the following
Revis
McCourty
Ayers
Wilfork
Branch
Vereen
Ridley
Connolly
Aiken
White
All the top corners under 30 have already been signed by others. There will be no top corner signed to replace Revis. I would also note that our short yardage run defense was the among the very worst in the NFL, and that was with Wilfork and Branch, instead of being free agents. Some might think that we also need a backup TE and a starting OG or two.
NOT TO WORRY! Bill has performed miracles before, and no one has done better then Belichick and Brady in the history of the NFL.

BOTTOM LINE
As fans, we need to have some balance and some perspective. The patriots will be one of the four favorites in the AFC no matter what Belichick does from now though August. The patriots will be heavy favorites to be in the layoffs no matter what Belichick does between now and August.
The patriots have been able to say this in every year since 2003. it is truly awesome to be a patriot fan.
And yes, this team was a great team since the day Kraft purchased it.
Are we LIKELY to repeat as Super Bowl champions? The likelihood is not. Of course, Belichick-Brady is the only combination that has repeated this century. We are one of the eight teams that are most likely to win the Super Bowl. I don't think fans should expect more.
So, CHILL and enjoy.
No kidding. You would have thought that someone's dog died once Talib was signed by DEN then...BOOM.Don't get bummed out DR, the Patriots will make their share of moves and if history is the guide they will be a better team than they were going into last season. They are patient and thorough and they usually do a really good job in the off-season so don't let the chicken littles get in your head.
Omg, looks like I panicked for no reason, what was I thinking, does this mean I should let things play out before I jump off a ledge....Patriots sign McCourty!!!I don't care, I can't stand it....free agency hasn't even started yet and the Patriots haven't done anything..(sorry couldn't resist bringing that up)
