It’s HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act). It only applies to certain “covered entities” such as insurance plans. So probably no violation.

HIPAA defines PHI, Personal Health Information, and sets rules for covered entities to protect privacy of PHI. So even if there is no HIPAA violation those standards could be referenced in claims against an employer, for example. So it makes a lot of sense to be careful and reticent about discussing such information. Besides, it’s the right thing. That personal health information should be private, not public, that’s why HIPAA defined the Privacy Rule covering it.

Without regard should have been referred to as personal issues, there is and always will be stigma attached to "mental health" issues, not only now but in his future...

JC is clearly going through difficult times. Outsiders often bash BB’s personality but he’s always been very respectful of players dealing with things. Even those he released : you never hear a negative peep from coach.

Seems to be a trend down the stretch here. A lot of ominous social media chirping over the last couple years too from the players which we never saw when Brady was here.

An agent probably isn't a HIPAA covered entity. (HIPAA only applies to specific entities). And even if he is, if Jackson gives permission to release the info there's no HIPAA issue.

Among the list of entities subject to HIPAA privacy laws are “business associates”. Not all business associates are included, however, and agents may be a gray zone. Agree that unless the agent is moron, he would not say anything publicly without JC‘s permission..

He lost the locker room a while ago. People actually believe that age doesn't make a difference. Look at all the young coaches doing well. They connect, inspire and motivate the players. Even Tomlin (51) got into SM to connect with the modern players.

Pete Carroll can still connect because of his style, which is diametrically opposite from Bills'.
