I heard that we got a break on a call and the refs took a goal away from the Commies. They haven't been seen since.
Best Ever? Not even close.
Great game. Great win.
Best ever?? I'll take 1980 Lake Placid. That game was one of the great sporting events I've ever seen. The cold war was on, Democracy vs Communism, professional Russian players vs American college kids. An amazing game. Still gives me and millions of other Americans the chills and always will.

We got a break, but it was the right call. Goal was off the posts.
Not the best ever, only because it's preliminary round and the rival isn't there like it used to be, but the level if hockey and suspense was incredible
I'm not sure it's even theoretically possible to top that game.

There is an annoying trend in modern society to label something the "best ever" "worst ever" "biggest ever" (etc) immediately after it concludes. I call it "The Outbrain Effect."I heard that we got a break on a call and the refs took a goal away from the Commies. They haven't been seen since.

This was an exciting game, no doubt. But anyone who uses terms like "best ever" is just showing they have no clue about what happened in 1980 Lake Placid.
