My mistake then...I could swear you meant the "added element" of deflation in the first half.
'm not that hot on the added element which may/may not have allowed them to properly take advantage of last week
what is it that may have /may not have allowed them to take advantage?
Let's try this again--
I was openly rooting for SEA to win on Sunday--that's how much I wanted to play them. As our game went into the 3rd quarter and we started to pull away, I felt super confident that this was definitely our game to lose next Sunday. In other words, I felt very, very confident that we'd beat the Seahawks.
Since then, the whole "under inflation story" has come out, and my fear is that it may have offered something of a distraction for the coaches/players last week. After all, one of the greatest things about the SB is that you get 2 weeks to prepare.
Bottom Line: since the story broke, I'm not quite as confident, since it adds something of an "unexpected" or (added) element to the equation that I felt so confident about in the beginning. I really liked our matchup with the Seahawks, even if many did not.
I think it can go 2 ways. It can offer even more motivation for us, or it can take away from the focus, but personally, I don't care for the unexpected added element. I was good with the matchup before this stupid story broke.
