My vote goes to Phillip Dorsett from Miami.
He's expected to run the fastest 40 time of any Hurricane ever. Estimated around 4.2. Yeah, he's pretty damn fast.
The Patriots were lucky that injury prone players like Edelman and Gronk both stayed healthy this year. Truthfully we'd be screwed if either of them went down for an extended period of time, and thats scary considering there histories. Without Gronk we would have no deep threat and teams could just sit on our WR's short routes. Our Superbowl offensive game plan wouldn't have worked without Gronk.
Amendola was invisible all regular season, but he came on strong during the playoffs. Not sure what to think of Amendola going into 2015, but he can definitely be upgraded.
LaFell is good but he isn't taking the top off the defense. Dobson is a big question mark and he might not even be on the team next year.
Our skill players are quick and smart, but none of them are burners. Dorsett is just that, and would take the top off defenses. Please give Brady this talent for the last few years of his career. Our only WR deep threat, sadly, was Brian Tyms. Brady trying to force it to Gronk led to him getting picked off a lot down the stretch. Speed doesn't grow on trees and if Dorsett's still there at #32 I would pull the trigger.
Dorsett is the type of WR that can turn a 5 yard slant into a 50 yard TD, or run past an entire secondary to catch a long bomb. He averaged 25 yards per catch this past season. I think his best football is still ahead of him. Should be there at the end of the 1st rd unless he really tears it up at the Combine. With the new rules and emphasis put into place the past couple seasons that protect WR's, smaller receivers have been flourishing more than ever (TY Hilton, Jeremy Maclin, Emmanuel Sanders, Antonio Brown, Randall Cobb, etc)
He doesn't even run. He glides. and if our offense has a weakness, its lack of speed and deep threat. Dorsett would give us one of the more unpredictable, versatile, offenses in the league.
I know Brady isn't throwing a lot of deep passes at this point in his career, but Dorsett would still be valuable on sweeps, screens, slants, and the occasional deep ball. He also has extra value as a punt returner.
