Hi everyone,
I’m back for year two of Boston Marathon fundraising and there are now 26 days until the big day!
I wanted to let everyone know that on Monday, April 16, 2018 I will be running in the 122nd Boston Marathon for The New England Patriots Charitable Foundation team in honor of my uncle, Chris DiBello.
Uncle Chris, who unexpectedly passed away due to complications from a stroke in the fall of 2016, was a tremendous father, husband, and role model for all that he knew. He was the one of the first people that welcomed me to the very large family of my wife and I'll never forget that. Chris was a Patriots season-ticket holder for the past 20 years and we shared that love of the Patriots and many other activities. He would always get on my case about running the marathon (since I was a collegiate track athlete) so I thought that this would be a great way to honor him and raise money at the same time! I've set an updated goal for myself of $10,000 to be raised by the time I run and I'll need all the help I can get.
Some of you may have been wondering… “Why are you running for the Patriots and Bob Kraft? They don’t need any money!” Well, I’m running for the New England Patriots Charitable Foundation! The Foundation donates money to MANY different organizations and volunteers throughout New England and also holds a ton of charitable events featuring the players during the year. The money raised by the Boston Marathon team specifically goes to the Myra Kraft Community MVP Awards which are grants given to 26 amazing volunteer organizations & individuals from around New England.
Here is the link to my page where you can donate and read more about the team. Anything helps and is greatly appreciated.
