First off, my family first, my next loves are Patriots, Weather, and skiing.
I am planning on going back to college for Meteorology at WCSU (western Connecticut State University. I have been tracking this hurricane for about a week.

Whats coming exactly:

The GFS and NAM(weather models) have started to tread west after the next GFS run it will be pretty clear what is coming. It will come up the coast as a Cat 3 Hurricane weakening when it hits NC. By the time it hits NYC and Southern CT, it will be a category 1 hurricane. Winds of Excess of 60-80 per hour depending on the exact track of the storm. If it moves more west then Western CT, Eastern New York such as westchester, Western Mass will be hit the hardest. If that doesnt happen then Eastern New England will have the brunt of this hurricane. Expect Flash Floods (Rain 4-10 inches), Power Outages, Isolated Tornados, Trees down. The rest of New England will be hit by tropical storm strength wins as it moves inland will weaken.

Gonna be camping in Vermont from today to Sunday, but I sure hope nothing bad happens to Western Mass, since I live there and whatnot...

Being so far north we have only had the pleasure of having a couple hurricanes hit us, and none of them were brute strength, since the waters up here are a bit cooler.

Gotta love living on the coast...:)

Think safety fellow board members...

Bring it on Biotch!! :rocker:

Were you not here for Hurricane Juan or something?

While not a "major" hurricane on the Saffir–Simpson Hurricane Scale I think Juan was significant, especially considering your aforementioned infrequency of Tropical Cyclone activity.

For the record Belichick said he can only discuss Irene when she is here.

I have a business trip, leaving Sunday, with a LOT of meetings. I'm seriously considering switching to Saturday departure, no doubt costing 100s of additional $ in expense. I'll make sure my wife has plenty of supplies before I go.

yea,but...you live like in....CANADA,man....sorry,my bad:bricks:

Haynesworth and Wilfork will attempt to kill it, using a base 2-5 defense and attacking it up the middle disrupting the eye and forcing Irene to throw into coverage. Watch for Mayo to jump the route and take it back to sea.....

(On the real, hope all my east coasters take this thing seriously. Prepare, stay well.)

I was in Bristol, CT for Gloria. As a kid I thought it was the coolest thing, especially when the eye passed through.

You realize that, on the internet, remembering something from 1985 makes you old, right?

I remember it too -- but I was an adult living in Manhattan. Now THAT is old.

So here in MD it will still be a Cat 2 hurricane, plus was awakened last night from the 4.5 aftershock from Tuesday's 5.8 that centered 85 miles away.

For many reasons, I need to focus on Saturday's game.

Was indeed here for Hurricane Juan, living on the other side of Shearwater, yeah it was strong no doubt, siding all down the street, wind actualy blew holes in houses, sheds were picked up and moved, I am talking about a three or 4.....

Apparently, New York civil defense officials have been in talks with Rex Ryan (Jabba Wrecks) over the last 24 hours about strategies to stall Irene. One reported option is feeding him copious amounts of baked beans, aiming his ass in the storm's general path, and letting him break wind. The only concern there is collateral damage and being able to get enough beans shipped to East Rutherford in time.

Remembering Hurricane Donna, 1960, makes you old, hell I was around for Hurricane Carol 1954, heck, I even remember when Hurricane Carter was jailed and released :)

I was just in Sears in PEEB'dy buying something else, when I heard a guy on a phone saying "they're out of generators from here to New Jersey." So glad I bought mine a few years ago. Just have to fill up the gas cans. Gonna be a crazy couple of days out there -- and that's before the storm.

Headed to my Cape Cod cottage 160 feet from the ocean on Nantucket Sound saturday. Hurricane Bob hit there in '91 and flattened all the pine trees. Hope this sucka heads inland as trackjing presently. Even 24 hours before landfall the forecasters can be hundreds of miles off as they were last year when a hurricane (forget name) was gonna kill us all! and instead went East outsida Nantucket.

No laptop so if I'm washed out to sea to be torn to ribbons by the great whites off Chatham please dedicate this Lombardi to me.
