RUMOR: Revis "to hit the market?"

What a heavy burden you must bear being a fan of this team.

I am sorry, I really enjoyed watching the Patriots have a defense again, I am going to miss it. Sorry that my fond memories of greatness lends shade to the future of defensive mediocrity.

Still nothing. The Pats not letting Revis go without a fight. Hopefully we get him back.

Another frustrating season? The Pats just won the Super Bowl last month.

Each season is its own roller coaster ride. When people always ask "would you rather see a consistent contender or a superbowl followed up by a year or two of poor play" I always answer, consistent contender.

But, I go to the games, ya know...I pay for the enjoyment of watching the Patriots win or lose...I really like it when they win.

Oh, for God's sake, even without Revis/Browner this secondary is better than those past ones, and the coverage LBs are light years better. Also, the season doesn't start for months, so there's that.

Make a twitter account and follow these guys and NOBODY ELSE for anything you need to know:

@AdamSchefter
@RapSheet
@JasonLacanfora
@Rand_Getlin

Patriots reporters, less likely to have the breaking news first though:
@MikeReiss
@jeffphowe
@TomECurran
@DougKyedNESN

I might be missing a couple, but those are the ones I'm following and I see the tweets pouring in from them first

Mike Loyko is well worth following. @NEPD_Loyko. If I had to pick one guy to follow, he would be it. He stays on top of all the others.

And if no Revis that money can at least go elsewhere.

You're right. If they lose Revis that means they won't have a defense again next season. Thanks for the insight Miss Cleo.

Well, they would have pretty much the same guys as in 2013. So, we could look to that defense for our sense of salvation.

Not only am I pretty sure that most people would take the latter, but losing Browner and Revis would't cause that anyway. If Revis is gone, the Pats will still be good. It will make them a lot less likely to repeat, but they'll still be a playoff team.

I wasn't aware the 2015 season begins directly after Darrelle Revis signs a contract.

I see the reasonable people are few and far between today.

Guys off topic but can we get comp picks for Casillas, ayers ?

Well he is taking Jones, Nink, Hightower, Collins, McCourty, Mayo and a few others with him. Didn't you know that? We also can't replace him because even when he leaves we have to pay him.

BTW, if we lose Revis, would he be a compensation pick candidate? I know that if you cut a player he isn't eligible, does that also apply if you decline his option?

Seems like there's a monumental game of chicken going on.

Good thing I'm not negotiating, or we'd be 7 billion over the cap!
