Gronk nearly traded to DET in April

Been saying it for a while, Gronk will retire when Brady retires.

He doesn't need the money, and he probably doesn't want to end up with a broken down body.

Lets see what happens at the end of 2019 when his contract runs out and another team comes with a 20M APY offer.

Are we still sure Kurkjian was wrong?

Maybe you need to read properly before you comment? When did I say any of this crap? I said things have been weird starting with the SB and you bring up ancient history.

The delusion of some on here is sickening. Bill is not perfect.
You are upset at certain parts of the team, but fail to realize that some concessions need to be made in order to field as complete a team as possible to compete.

To “fix” the parts you dislike, you would need to give up parts that work.

This isn’t like when SF would scoop up and keep talent in the 80s. And to criticize one aspect without keeping in mind the new economic structures and new rules that heavily favor O, is what I object to.

Good. Stay lost. Bye bye...

What's with people's lack of reading comprehension in this thread? Where did I say I am quitting the Patriots?

I guess some people don't let facts get in the way of a catchy line.

Doesn’t make him free from criticism.

We get these draft picks and don’t really draft the best.
True. No one is Perfect. Find five teams that have been better at drafting than NE and let’s compare and contrast the success of those franchises vs NE.

This is insanity. Bill needs to reign in his ego. Our offense would have been horrifyingly bad! Don't know what he is thinking anymore. I always thought that everything he did was rational even if I did not agree with it. However, starting from the Superbowl, he lost me.

Eh, I don't think it's so cut and dry either way:

1. HOF TE and still playing at a high level.
2. Pushing 30.
3. Numerous traumatic injuries including knee and back.
4. Plays hard and has absorbed lots of hard hits which adds up.
5. Reportedly displeased with certain aspects of the team.
6. Reportedly displeased with contract.

Bill sees a valuable asset that has an immediate high decline/injury risk and is not willing to pay a premium for an uncertain future.

Concidering the Gronk circumstances in April I have no problem with Bill exploring trade options and pulling the trigger if the compensation was right.

I have no problem with Gronk threatening to retire.

This forced both sides to reevaluate their positions and find a way to make the relationship work.

In exchange for what? A 2nd round pick?

The teenage fanboy in me loves to hear that Gronk would rather retire than not catch passes from Brady. The aduly in me also thinks he is telling the truth. The fable that he has saved every penny he has made, and lives off his endorsements, plus that he will make oddles of money when he retires in WWE or Commercials, or Network color talking head, buttresses the fact he could just quit on a dime. As far as Belichick, what ever he does he has my vote. Check his resume.

I’m pretty sure you could pry Ryan Grigson from the Seahawks.

Before you throw crap around like that maybe you at least do some digging? Like looking up my posting history and how long I have been around here?

Again...don' t let facts get in the way of a catchy line.

Who drafted him?
In the 6th round after passing over him 5 or 6 times? If Belichick had the slightest clue who he was drafting in Brady, he would have done so in the 1st. By the time the 6th round rolls around, you're taking shots in the dark. Besides, that's not the point.

The problem I have with your post is you show you do not grasp the business -side of football.

When you throw crap out like that, you show your ignorance on the subject.

In the absence of knowledge and insight into the situation, that creates the perception of trolling.

You can redeem yourself though...

No other team has a Tom Brady.
No other coach goes 11-5 w Cassel either... what is their record last year w JG ?

You sure don't.

Says who? You're dealing in impossible to prove/disprove hypotheticals.

Last year alone we saw Nick Foles lead a team to a Super Bowl win, and Case Keenum lead the Vikings to 13-3 + NFC Championship appearance.
