"BB came out and said in his one Spygate presser"......
You make my point. This was a national conversation for the entire 2007 season. BB gave 1 presser? There is not a media member in this nation who would have declined a Belichick interview if given the opportunity. Belichick never took the opportunity. Belichick NEVER put this issue in its' proper context by explaining/educating the public about the use of filming within the NFL. He NEVER put the entire issue in its' proper context, i.e. we are allowed to tape over here but not over here.
BB and Kraft allowed the media to write an inaccurate account of what the Patriots were actually guilty of. Because Belichick refused to defend himself and explain the whole filming process he allowed the media to mis/disinform and forever tarnish his reputation.
This x1,000. That debacle and the effects we will feel today was largely the result of poor PR/management. I understand they follow a precedent for how they handle issues. Spygate warranted a different approach. Unfortunately, this error is now not reversible. I know I will be answering stuff about this to other fans for the rest of my natural life. It's so aggravating. Follow a bad football team for years, they finally win, and then have to stand up to people about cheating the rest of your years. What can you do, though?
