If the patriots don't have a QB they want at 3 (the first two will almost surely be gone, with one by way of a trade), I think that they would get very good offers from those looking for Harrison, their choice of OT or their choice of QB. The team may have no strong preferences among 3 or 4 quarterbacks and may be willing to trade down to 7, 8, 9 or even 10.

I'm OK with that as long as they trade back into the first for our starting LT.

Of course, the deal may not be good enough to keep them from drafting their choice of OT, a bookend with Onwenu for the next 5 years. In that case, we would trade into the first for a QB, perhaps even using our 2025 first.

Of course we should consider trading down. The team has many weaknesses in its personnel.

The GM has sucked since 2015.

Get a look at that year. (Viewer discretion. Not for the weak of heart.) Jordan Richards in the second is the sign he stopped listening to the scouting department that Kraft spends millions on.

Big game this weekend, the Cardinals vs. the Bears. I can see the Patriots winning one more game most likely vs. the Jets. If the Cardinals lose out the Patriots will most likely end up with pick #3. A team will absolutely trade in front of the Patriots for a QB. If Bill is still the GM this could be a disaster any way you roll it out. Could be looking at multiple trade backs into mid to late first round and no skill players drafted.

Worst pick ever. What makes it so bad is he comes off like every move he makes in genius. I swear he goes against the grain just because even at his own detriment. To be honest though, the 2015 NFL draft was probably one of the worst draft classes overall EVER.

Round # 1
Mahomes (superbowl x 3)
Jackson
Allen
Burrow (superbowl)
Goff
Tua
Lawrence

Hurts (superbowl) dropped to Round # 2 which today is a blunder by all the draft experts. Dak went Round # 4 if you like him.

If you don't have the balls or knowledge to identify and select a QB in Round # 1, by all means trade down and play it safe. Trade to 2025.

That’s it. As a smart guy he feel into the trap of trying to show how much smarter he was than everyone else. Belichick decided to ignore the scouting department.

Jordan Richards was a great college player. But he wasn’t NFL material. I knew that watching him get smoked on a goal line stand when he gave up containment to a legit nfl RB, Jeremy Langford, in the 2014 Rose Bowl.

I posted the clip here at the time of this foolhardy selection. But the pro-bias Belichick bias was too strong for people to see with their own eyes.

Here, I’ll do it again:

Just 20 seconds in watch #8 get smoked. Jordan Richards simply lacked the requisite athleticism to be anything other than a priority free agent.

The Krafts have been sitting on their hands for far too long.

That fing Pittsburgh win.....that might be the one that costs the team this draft.

AZ is definitely losing to Chicago. Bears are better imo.

Getting a top two pick would hopefully ensure ownership mandates no trade downs. No fing around for the future. Take the QB and don't overthink it. If I go to the casino and am guaranteed a two million dollar payout (QB), I take it and run. I don't stand there and hope to win six million (Get great OL and a QB in lesser rounds). Chances are, I will end up with no money or maybe 1k at most in last scenario.

I have Patriot fan friends who were praying Rodgers would return for the finale. They, and everyone else knows, beating the Jets serves no purpose.

This is the most important team draft in 30 plus years. If they screw it up, there may not be a way back for a long long time.

If Robert feels it's too hard of a decision, maybe his son should make the final call. Letting past glory and feelings get in the way just can't be an option. It's time for Bill the GM to go. And we now it's unlikely he stays as just HC

They should not worry about how successful Bill is on another team. It needs to be about the future of the Patriots.

Reid had to move on from the Eagles. The organization needed to move on from him. Everyone knew it. Reid winning 10 titles in KC wouldn't change the fact he wasn't going to win in Phi anymore. Changes sometime are great for everyone.

Has Harrison announced if he he is declaring or staying?
Because either we are getting a franchise QB or stud wr in the top 3 and I can live with that. I know you think we will bear the Jets but that defense can shut people down.
I don’t see zappe lighting that team up,
Wild card is buff, if they have their playoff spot sewn up is there a scenario where they bench and protect their starters?

Patriots D can shut people down too. Jets QB may be worse than Pats.

MHJ will definitely declare. No way he goes back to college imo. He says he hasn't made a final decision yet. But..yeah.

Bill will gladly trade down 3 times, miss out on the surefire stud, then draft a 1st round bust. Is that really where you want to go with the draft?

Remember the 1990 draft !

I am starting to lean to MHJ if he comes out and trade for Fields

Justin Herbert was the 6th pick, we wouldn’t be happy with him 3rd overall?

Every year around draft time people assume the draft falls the way ESPN’s mock will, that the top two players will unquestionably be QB’s, that the top QB or two will become the best pros… and over time these people are often wrong.

Would you rather have the first overall pick than the 3rd or 6th? Sure, but it doesn’t guarantee you anything.

Jameis Winston, Jamarcus Russell, Ryan Leaf, David Carr… the draft is a crapshoot no matter where you pick.

Don’t trade, find your QB.

The Dolphins traded the #3 overall pick a few years back and it directly turned them into a legitimate Super Bowl contender. And at the time, they didn't think they had their franchise QB or at least they weren't sure. Tua wasn't anything special at the time.

Anyone have a feel for the quarterback class of 2025? I’ve been hearing a lot of buzz about the kid from Penn State. If the Patriots trade out at least have a plan to to put themselves in a position to get a qb next year. four

Marvin Harrison Jr, Drake Maye, Caleb Willams or trade down.
You can’t mess this up and if we draft one and they don’t live up to the potential at least we made the right pick.

Any world where Patriots are 2, want Williams or Maye and trades up a spot to keep another team for trading with Chicago?
