Every time I will play New England it will be a personal grudge-Shaun Phillips

It is very simple - when Tom said Reche told him the Charger players didn't think much of the Patriots he was telling the truth.

The Chargers front office was planning their Super Bowl parade and the players were no doubt checking their ring sizes.

They can't believe they lost and they are reacting like babies. They do more dancing and talk more trash than any team in the league. They have an assistant coach (soon to be the head coach if he isn't already) running around after games screaming about "ass whoopings." They shouldn't dish it out if they can't take it.

The bottom line on the Chargers is that these immature losers can't get past your mother's playground advice, "If you can't take it, then don't dish it out." My understanding is that there was one person (Ellis Hobbs) who immitated Merriman (and from what I can see on replays, no camera caught it because nobody has shown it again). Grow up and move on. You lost. GO PATS!!

You want to talk about disrespect? Maybe it wasn't taunting, but going for it on two occasions on fourth down, 4 and 11, against the Patriots? Call it stupid play calling, but the bottom line is the coach did not respect that defense.

Call it Martyball!

This is true - I asked what the hell are they doing? Aren't they in FG range? And my hubby said, "They don't respect the Pats."

I really do hope it will be a personal grudge for these guys.

They can not control their emotions on the field, by their own admission, even though it was a point of emphasis for them during preparations.

Yes, please go into it as a personal grudge. You're not pumped up enough already. Do an extra special dance if you do your job, instead of a medium special dance.

That'll win it for you.

Don't let facts get in the way of your rant...

What gets lost in all this is that when Merriman does his dance, he is celebrating his individual accomplishment. When the Pats did it at the end of the game, they were celebrating a TEAM accomplishment. So yes, the other team was insulted because they just put the "lights out" in SD stadium. There is no shame in that. Anyone who has played team sports actively knows when their team comes away with an awesome victory against who is considered the "better" team and a bully who talks smack, you are pretty damn excited. At the end of the game, you have EVERY right to stick it right back in the faces of those who had no respect for you the entire game..

A guy who no shows in the biggest game of his life is going to take it personal from now on?

OOHHH!! We should be scared.

Can someone explain to me what the hell Karen Guregian is talking about? Comparing this to the Ryder Cup? It's ****** football! And if the Euros had been talking **** and dancing the whole time, then yes they would have deserved it even in golf.

And the players locker-rooms are nowhere near each other, so how were Patriots players yelling into the Chargers lockerroom? What an embarrassing column.

LT...just admit it...you were pissed off! You guy's lost because you guy's were the one's celebrating and doing the dancing long before kick off.

If you truly have the class you say you have you wouldn't have to say you have it.

“That was very classless. . . . When we went in and beat their head in New England (last season), blew them out (41-17), we did nothing but compliment them and say they were a good team.

So, "That was an ass-whipping!" qualifies as a complement now? These Chargers need to grow up and act like they've been there before. Only their Californian brethren, the Raiders, were more sour after a defeat.

I don't believe the Chargers have ever been there before. At least, not in a very long time.

There are a lot of smart people in the NFL.

None of them are in any way associated with the San Diego Chargers :D

Did Phillips even play in this game?

You didn't watch the game? He's the one who hammered Brady and caused the ball to go flying.

What's funny about this is the Chargers are a young team with the MVP of the NFL on the rise. The Pats are the downhill. I hope the Pats play the Chargers next season.

They do... Don't you follow your team?

Then why are you here? And you speak for the rest of the NFL?
