Rodgers already knocked out of the game against the Bills

I am not sure the Jets are out of the running for the playoffs. Even Jets haters (which I am) can admit that their defense is very impressive and likely to be top 3 and without injury is likely to keep Jets in most games they play.
On offense they have Garrett Wilson and Hall as playmakers and their O-line is decent.
Zach Wilson will have to evolve and minimize his turnovers but the Jets could bring in a veteran game manager and with the talent they have they could squeak into playoffs still.
Jakobi brissett would be a great game manager for jets .

The Jets would make TB12 want to take off his jersey and pads and shirt and do jumping jacks in the end zone Antonio Brown style.

Tore my MCL and was trying to walk on it after and had almost zero pain but it was not stable (ie couldn’t put weight on it). I would say Adrenalin and possibly pain tolerance have to do with that. Same when I hyperextended both knees.
It's quite complicated and there are many factors that effect how much pain you will feel including your previous experience of injury, your perception of the pain as a threat, mental state as well as many more. One thing is for sure pain does not equal the level of damage done. You can have a horrendous injury with very little pain and visa versa.

I wish this would happen. A bonus year of Brady..The Pats/Jets rivalry on steroids....Talk about entertainment! Thats what football is supposed to be folks.
I would not cheer for TB12 on the Jets so not sure if it counts for me as a bonus year.

Won't happen though. He's retired. I'm sure they'll kick the tires at least.

I'm sorry to hear that, as a football fan I was looking forward to the dynamics of this move because in the end I know the Jets will suck.

Now, he was slow as ****, almost got tackled in the play before, holding the ball too long, these guys don't playing in the pre season doesn't help.

Associated Press is now reporting that the MRI confirmed a torn Achilles in Rodgers left foot, he is out for the season.

Jets coach Saleh is expected to speak via video call this afternoon.

Right on the money, Sam. Zach Wilson was the second pick in the draft. He has ALL the physical tools to be a franchise QB. The problem with some fans is we remember the bad games this kid has had over the last 2 years. Players CAN improve. Wilson has all the tools.

The Jets showed the other night that they CAN play great defense. They have a lot of offensive pieces, which includes the best running duo in the league in Hall and Cooks. Great Defense, Great Running game and even with a DECENT QB you can contend.

Losing Rodgers is just delicious karma for Jet fans; All the **** they've been talking this off season is pure delite for me, who never liked Rodgers. But just remember who won that game.

BTW- How a team looks in game one, ESPECIALLY in the era where so little work is done by the starters during preseason, is not indicative of what a team is going to look like in the middle of October.

They could work out a settlement.
Aaron Rodgers is not giving up his money.

More likely is he goes on a darkness retreat and eats some dirt and claims that he is "rehabbed".

I mean we are talking about the guy who ate clay and claimed that he "immunized" from COVID.

Tom Brady, answering the phone when the Jete call.

Was that fully guaranteed? If so, the Jets are even stupider than I thought.

Giving a 40 year old QB a full guarantee is flat out stupid.

It's mostly all paid out too, in the form of a $35M bonus this season and a $35M bonus guaranteed for next season.

If you look at the numbers it's worse for da Jete than I thought.

They more or less presume that he's playing not just this this year and next, but also da Jete really need him to play and restructure in 2025 as well:

Those final two years mean that Rodgers will have leverage in 2025 to try and get a new deal. He will be 42 by then, but with the prospect of $86.5 million hanging over the Jets across two years, they may very well be willing to offer him another deal.

Yeah. He did exactly what a 39 year old QB with limited mobility should not do...held the ball...almost frozen in place.

So, I guess there's a reason that Johnson & Johnson doesn't let Woody get within ten miles of the company's C-Suite...his grandfather worked hard and smart to build that company...they're not going to let him wreck it. Too bad for the Jets' fans? No...not really.

Two years, $75M fully guaranteed

While I get why the Jets would go for it, when you haven’t won a Super Bowl since the Viet Nam War you get pretty desperate, this is the risk you take going all in for a Lombardi. And it’s hard to see Rodgers going all out to return to the Jets for one last hurrah, so they lost the picks and $75 million against the cap. They still have some good skill players, and a strong defense, but going forward with Zach Wilson is a tough road to hoe.

To me the next thing I'll be looking at is how Rodger reacts toward his team. Does he come back after whatever medical procedure is done and be on the sideline, helping coaching his team. Or does he go off to his "dark place" and disappear.

My guess it's the former. He LOVES the limelight and he has it in NY, and WILL have it even if he isn't playing. IIRC when Brady was lost for the season in 06, he kind of disappeared from the team and the excuse was, he didn't want to be a distraction. 2 different responses. Rodgers will get murdered here regardless of which he chooses.

His original contract had two years left (2023 and 2024) and $110M guaranteed. He gave up $35M in guaranteed money when he redid his deal with the Jets. There is no way he should give any more $$ to the Jets. His cap number for this year is $9M, so there is a huge cap hit if they cut him. The re-worked deal has some voidable years tacked on to spread out the cap hits, but if they don't cut him, they will owe him another $37.5M for 2025. Look for Roger to figure out a way to bail the Jets out.

I'll pass. If that were to happen the whole Patriots HOF would be revoked.
