Do you see Jimmy Garoppolo being used as trade bait?

No - we'd have to turn around and use another round 2-4 pick on a backup QB, so unless you are getting a 1st round pick, what's the point?

No way, that would be a desperate action by Belichick and I'm pretty sure he is not desperate.

Keep calm and trust Bill.

If anyone on this team is trade bait is be Mayo though I do wonder what his value will be right now even if healthy. He is the only piece you can afford to move that will not kill you that can make an impact on his new team.

If I can trade Mayo for a good CB I do it in a heart beat.

JG should be worth around a mid #1 this year given the QB situation in the league and this draft. And I'd be sorely tempted at that price - but we'd have no backup QB unless you want Gilbert as our Brady insurance.

Mayo is coming off an injury and has a pretty big salary.

I'd thought of trading Garapolo. It would be a little tricky to coach up a rookie, but Marshall from Auburn would be interesting. Jack of all trades and has a great arm. Later round pick.

He doesn't have much worth here...if brady is playing even two more years, he'll be off his rookie deal by the time he's ready to play. And thus expensive.

Can we stop with in Bill we trust Name. He is not a Perfect Coach/GM. He has made his fair share of mistakes. He is a good coach, but I think some people use in Bill we trust to absolve him of any mistakes he has made in the past or in the future.

lol good joke man.

As with any backup on this team .... if the right compensation for him were offered ..... almost certainly he'd be gone.

If I was a rival team and my GM actually offered the Patriots a first round pick for a Jimmy Garoppolo then once the Pats pounce all over that I would make sure that GM is immediately relieved of their duties with the organization.

Pats trade JG for a corner then use the #6 pick from the Jets (tampering comp) on Winston. :)

A reliable vet backup QB gets a salary like a low-end JAG starter. If that's an accurate way of assessing Jimmy G's value, it's hard to imagine a trade that would make sense for both sides.

I'd trade Jimmy for Luck. That's about it.

Jimmy is our guy. I've never seen so much poised from a backup since Brady. He is at least as good as nick foles, which means he can be a starter for us.

Maybe not this year but perhaps down the line.
